I never like velvet and normally strongly discourage people from wearing it... but I think the bottom would look too simple without it in this particular style, especially if u get shorter top.
Re: 2011 Brides
If you like the dress, any good colour combo will work. I think it will look great! I really like that colour combo. And personally, I would keep the length, cause when you sit the dress will split in the middle and fall to the sides and show more of your lengha anyway. And if it's a good length, then you can pair it with trousers and get a lot of wear out of it in the next couple years.
Re: 2011 Brides
You can also maybe choose a self or jamavhar fabric for the lengha to give it a more filled in look, instead of adding a lot more kaam.
Re: 2011 Brides
aww congrats to all you brides-to-be :D

agreed. dont bother adding more kaam. look at the shirt, its already filled with kaam. and I wouldn't shorten the length. Long shirt with lenghas are in these day and look awesome!
Re: 2011 Brides
Thanks you guys! But overall, do you like the dress or not. I'm not sure how I feel about it, I see some golden, copper and silver kaam in it. I hate not being able to choose my own dress with my own hands :(

I think it's a very royal and elegant looking dress!
Re: 2011 Brides
I love your idea of doing a fawn shirt and like someone else said before, going with a jamawar patterned lehnga in deep red will look beautiful! Also, I like the gold and bronze kaam, the silver looks out of place to me…Over all the outfit will look reallly nice once you make the changes but how short are you planning on having the shirt be? I wouldnt reccomend shortening by a lot if your still going to have that slit down the middle.
Re: 2011 Brides
have you decided on your makeup artist and photographer? I am still confused as to what to do.. I was thinkign of Sabs as I have seen brides by them and all looked good. However, I read so many conflicting reviews about them that I am not sure what to do. I will be going to karachi just a week before the wedding, so will not have enough time to visit salons and decide.
No photographer or MUA yet, Ill probably end up having to squeeze in a few trials as soon as I land...I will have just that week before the wedding so far I havent been able to decide yet...this is pretty stressful, but im still researching.
Re: 2011 Brides
I think that outfit looks nice with long shirt. As someone already mentioned, long shirts are in these days. However, knee length would look good as well.
I read that you are planning on fawn and red lehnga. I have a couple options that I found to be gorgeous. Since you are admiring this front slit shirt, you may also like this outfit that Jacquelin wore at IIfa Awards. The shirt color and kaam may seem dull or less for bridal outift, but you can always add colors to the kaam etc…
I loveee her side slit! It looks unique and trendy.
Her shirt neck is deep, but you can always change it.
Re: 2011 Brides
Below are pictures of another nice lehnga if you want short shirt. Additional kaam can be added on teh shirt if one wants to make it heavier.
Re: 2011 Brides
Oh ok.. Please do give us reviews on all of them when yo get trials and actual makeup done. Though I heard that alot of them charge the same amount for trials that they would charge for the actual wedding day makeup.
Re: 2011 Brides
Thank you girls!!! Honestly you guys are the best.
Djsidra – I really appreciate your effort with the pictures :) The red and fawn dress that you posted is exactly the colours I’m searching for
Escapist - def. get some trails done, I went for one few days ago but sadly I don't have a dress or jewls yet so the MUA couldn't really show mewhat I would look like so it was a waste of my money. Good luck!
