Im going to Lahore, but some of my jewelry is coming from Peshawer with my khala (who is going to come to Lahore to see us). We are originally from Peshawer, but my moms family lives in Lahore. But since Im still peshawari at heart, I had to have the traditional Peshawari Kharay, and those are only made in Peshawer. but everything else Im getting done in Lahore. I cant wait!

ok, as promised, I uploaded a picture of the Peshawari Kharay. This isnt the most clear picture, but you can kind of see it. They are twisted like a rope, and they are open instead of a full circle.

Yes, these are specific to peshawer! I love them!! I already put my order in for them. My khala put the order in and will bring them to Lahore when I get there. One of my friends (she isnt pathan), she wanted these khara's, because she loved the design, so she gave this picture to Ruby Jewellers in Lahore, but they messed up the design. So just a lesson to everyone, only get these kharay made in Peshawer!!

The Peshawari Kharay are beautiful..!! I am new to gupshup, and not a bride myself. But my brother is getting married summer 2011, and we are gearing up for the functions (about 12 separate events total.. YIKES!). My Bhabhijaan (to be) would totally love these type of kharay. Any idea if they are available in the states? Or a good jeweler I can contact in Peshawar for them?

hey...I dont know the name of the jeweler as my khala placed the order. But I can find out from her which jewelers she got them from. As for anyone in the US having them, I honestly doubt it, because even jewelers outside Peshawer dont have this type.
I got my valima outfit from Rani Emaan, and I am sooooo happy with it!!! She is a little on the pricey side (mine was 280,000), but I am so in love with it!!!

Thank you soo much! Would greatly appreciate that. I wanted to get my Bhabhi (to be IA) Kharay as a moon deekhayi gift, and I know she'd love these ones. I am not sure in rupees, but we're getting the mehndi, nikkah, shaadi, valima for her from there and we're quoted 3,000 US for the 2 main ones, other 2 I cannot remember. I thought that was a steal price, compared to what we've seen in the shops around here.
Did you get any other formal wear from Rani Emaan? We're thinking to have formal wear for us from grooms side to wear as well. We have crazy amount of functions, and 4 females to dress in our home... You can imagine the pressure for clothes!
When we physically wear them, I'll post images :) We don't have anything in our hands as yet :( Supposed to come in, about 4 months. Either here or on my photography page...

I found her website the other day, and love love love the designs. We're also going to be ordering some formal from Ahmed Bilal (IA)... Have you tried anyone other than Rani Emaan?
