In March a policeman was brutally beaten, almost to the point of death by Ch.Iftikhar supporters.
Later on his supporters thrashed journalists in Karachi.
Then there are his wukla colleagues beating others who don’t support their position.
Today religious terrorists in Karachi are killing people in his name.

I agree, that there are a lot of elements involved like the people's movement for what's technically right by the book. And yes, a military govt is not what's supposed to be right, but I'm just too disoriented with the over zealous multi flavored movements just to oust Musharraf. The problem is, the moment I lose my fear of the options we have in Musharraf's lieu, or the moment a better and more reasonable option or individual figure comes in sight I'd start loosening support for the Mush mix-bag of political hold. But so far I dont seem to trust anyone, nos single leader or party has proven anything to warrant trust and similarly the CJ-lead movement is also seen with a rather negative eye. But Youre right, this all mayhem, bloodshed, deception, duplicity, intolerance by all parties, PML-Q&N, MQM, MMA, PPP leading to this on the streets of Pakistan is highly sad and unnerving. When will everyone learn to sober up? When will the MQM stop acting the way they do? when will JI/MMA stop behaving like sole flag bearers of Islam and so on...today is a sad and confusing day...:(

In western countries you never see a "Chief Justice" - who is supposed to be neutral and above any bias attend/lead opposition party rallies in city after city. The CJ has become the most active politcal personality in Pakistan now, and it's time he formed his own party rather than dragging the judiciary down to the street level for his personal ego.
lolz and no where in the western world you will see the Chief of Army Staff addressing a political rally and asking ppl to "meray logon ko vote dein"

I maybe a less reasoning being, but when ARY talked to other citizens, prominent ones at that, like Anwar Maqsood, Talat Hussain (Actor) and Faisal Qureshi, they all said things to the effect that when the CJ knew how tantrum throwing MQM can be, and when peace, lives and property was at risk due to a clash, he should have reasoned well for the sake of the country, the city, the lost lives and delayed his arrival. I agree with them. The CJ could have decided better knowing how the MQM is...and knowing how other parties will play catalyst. Atleast someone should act responsibly, at least to save lives if nothing else...and in that regard the CJ was blamed by these three personalities as well...

As I said earlier those people who first supported Ch.Iftikhar are now openly questioning his political tactics, and questioning if he can ever claim to be a neutral and independent judge ever again.

as a karachi wala Im sure that the situation is completely MQM manufactured, the Sindh govt is acting in conjunction with the leadership in London.
they're acting like kidnappers holding a city ransom.
nobody can create a situation like this in Karachi except MQM. those who say the CJ cant be "politically neutral" now should ask themselves how they can be politically tied to a party like MQM.
It amazes me how those who bash MQM in other threads are deflecting blame to CJ over here. Those who are Mush opposers in other threads are bedfellows with their traditional opponents here.

I hear Farooq Sattar's home was under fire too. We know how the MQM is, but look at what the others are doing now too. All are acting the same. The other parties in opposition riding the CJ surf are also embracing the way of the gun...

nobody is doing wat his/her role is...and the more this situation continues the more ppl of pakistan will suffer and they are already suffering so much..

CJ has adressed Bars in Peshawar and Lahore, why didn't the opposition parties do any violence there?
CJ went from Islamabad to Lahore in 27 hours, thousands of people were present along the roads, no one saw any violence.
Today, we have seen images never seen on Pak channels. MQM thugs with cars with MQM flags openly shown firing at AAJ TV.
THe whole world knows who is the terrorrist except the blind.

حملہ اس وقت کیا گیا جب ٹی وی چینل پر اسکے دفتر کے اطراف مورچہ بند مسلح افراد کو کھلے عام اسلحہ اٹھائے فائرنگ کرتے ہوئے دکھایا جارہا تھا اور یہ خبر نشر کی جارہی تھی کہ ٹی وی کے دفتر پر فائرنگ کی گئی ہے جبکہ اسکا عملہ کئی گھنٹوں سے محصور اور غیرمحفوظ ہے اور حکومت سندھ کی جانب سے سیکیورٹی کا منتظر ہے۔
حملہ کے وقت متحدہ قومی موومینٹ کے قائد الطاف حسین آج ٹی وی کے دفتر سے چند کلومیٹر کے فاصلے پر ہی بندر روڈ پر اپوزیشن کے خلاف ریلی سے خطاب کررہے تھے اور ان کا یہ خطاب آج ٹی وی کے سوا بعض دوسرے نجی ٹی وی چینلز پر براہ راست نشر کیا جارہا تھا۔
حملے کےدوران مسلح افراد کو جب آج ٹی وی چینل پر براہ راست گاڑیوں کو توڑ پھوڑ کرتے اور نذر آتش کرتے دکھایا جارہا تھا تو پس منظر میں دو بار نیوز کاسٹر کی آواز سنائی دی کہ اب وہ مزید نہیں بول سکتیں۔ اسکے کچھ دیر بعد ہی آج ٹی وی پر بھی الطاف حسین کی تقریر براہ راست نشر ہونا شروع ہوگئی۔

ملک میں مفت ایمبولینس فراہم کرنے والے سب سے بڑے نجی نیٹ ورک کے چیف والینٹئر رضوان ایدھی نے بتایا ہے کہ کراچی کے علاقے ملیر سے دو زخمیوں کو ہسپتال لے جانے والے ڈرائیور فیض الرحمان کو مسلح افراد نے فائرنگ کرکے ہلاک کردیا اور اسکے بعد ان دونوں زخمیوں کو بھی گولیاں مارکر ہلاک کرد

A lawyers’ spokesman told the BBC that bar association members in Karachi had been attacked by MQM activists in various parts of the city.
**“Our colleagues have been brutally attacked while the government has given the MQM a free hand,” he said. **
**“This is the end of rule of law in the country.” **
The Sindh High Court was surrounded by hundreds of MQM political activists. The lawyers say that activists attacked them and prevented them from entering the high court premises where Mr. Chaudhry had been due to speak.

بی بی سی کے نامہ نگاروں کے مطابق کراچی کے علاقے ملیر میں چارگاڑیوں کو آگ لگا دی گئی ہے۔ ملیر کے علاقے میں ہی فائرنگ کے واقعات میں چار افراد کے زخمی ہونے کی اطلاع ہے جن میں سے تین کا تعلق پاکستان پیپلز پارٹی جبکہ ایک کا تعلق اے این پی سے ہے
