12 May - KARACHI Rallies & Bloodshed (merged)

This is what he said on Prime TV’s ‘Apnay Andaz Se’ programme today.
He also said that Nawaz Sharif never promised the ANP that NWFP could be renamed “Pakhtunkwa” or “Pashtunistan”.
Also said Nawaz Sharif was in favour of the Kalabagh Dam.

Doubletalk over doubletalk of Nawaz Sharif loyalists.

Re: MQM not a terrorist party - PML (Nawaz) leader Ch.Nisar Ali Khan

Ahh the duplicity of Nawaz and his cronies, they have nowhere to run to, nobody to cling to, so one day they appeal to the Generals, the next they request BB not to go ahead with the deal, then they join on the CJ protests and then remember good things about MQM.

And suddenly it seems he might even be considering cozying up with Musharraf too. That will be something to behold. Even Kalabagh dam is now being favoured...What's next...?

Re: MQM not a terrorist party - PML (Nawaz) leader Ch.Nisar Ali Khan

In fact you could be right. Ch. Nisar Ali Khan was tying himself in knots in the interview with all his doubletalk. He said no case of terrorism had been proved against the MQM, then practically called the ANP liars, could not make up his mind whether to criticise or praise the PPP-P, and said "the door was open" for 80% of PML (Q) members if they wanted to reconcile (with Nawaz), but then said not for other 20%. But overall not much criticsim of General Musharraf.

Mark my words Nawaz Sharif is angling for a deal with Musharraf which will allow him back into the country. One gets the feeling listening to the core PML (Nawaz) people like Ch. Nisar Ali Khan, Raja Zafarul Haq etc that they still retain their deep hatred of Bhuttoism, and fondness for the faujis even?

12 May - KARACHI Rallies & Bloodshed (merged)

Only MQM is brave enough to stand up for the true independence of the judiciary andy free from politicians in their funny hats and shawls. Long live Altaf bhai.

RALLY ON SATURDAY 12TH MAY 2007 TO SUPPORT THE INDEPENDENCE OF JUDICIARY AND AGAINST THE POLITICAL JUGGLERY IN THE NAME OF INDEPENDENCE OF JUDICIARY - MQM INFORMATION CELL

London – May 7, 2007 - Member of MQM Coordination Committee and Incharge MQM Central Information Cell Mr Mustafa Azizabadi has announced that to support the independence of judiciary and against the political jugglery in the name of independence of judiciary; a huge peaceful rally is to be organised in Karachi on Saturday, May 12, 2007. People of Pakistan, particularly of Sindh, will participate in this rally wholeheartedly in large numbers. Further details of rally including the venue and timings will be issued later. He appealed to the lawyers who believe in the independence of judiciary and judicial process and people from all walks of life to fully participate in this rally of 12th May in large numbers to show their support and make this rally a historic success.

Re: 12 May - MQM Rally for Independence of Judiciary.

A bunch of thugs and criminals.

The provincial governor of MQM Mirza ?Nawab Advocate, today said on national TV that they are doing this rally in opposition of CJ's reception. And said, How can they do a rally against our wishes in Karachi. Karachi is ours.

When confronted by journalist that the country is for all, he again reiterated, "Pakistan is for all, but Karachi is ours"

Re: 12 May - MQM Rally for Independence of Judiciary.

Compare peaceful MQM rallies to the violence of rallies in Punjab. Says it all.

Re: 12 May - MQM Rally for Independence of Judiciary.

"Pur aman hartal" aur "Pur aman rally"! Should be in joke section!

Re: 12 May - MQM Rally for Independence of Judiciary.

such a sick way to get political mileage out of the judicial crisis....pathetic!

Re: 12 May - MQM Rally for Independence of Judiciary.

LOL

Re: 12 May - MQM Rally for Independence of Judiciary.

Two rallies mean another day of frustration for poor daily wage earners. Our policitical parties have been doing this with Karachi over the last many years - be it MQM or regiligous fanatics! And now CJ and company plus MQM do not want to remain behind in taking away bread of the day from poor people.

Re: 12 May - MQM Rally for Independence of Judiciary.

MMA is apparently holding a seperate rally in Karachi from the lawyers... Another example of the MQMs refusal to join the maistream of Pakistan... Its always them versus the rest of the country.

Re: 12 May - MQM Rally for Independence of Judiciary.

agreed!

Re: 12 May - MQM Rally for Independence of Judiciary.

The previous 100,000 strong rally the MQM staged a few weeks ago was peaceful, so let's just hope this one is as well. Like all politicians the non-functional CJ is planning to visit the Quaid's Mazar , where he will be presented with a bouqet of flowers by the JI workers. Ironic that. JI workers who secretly curse the Quaid to this day at their kutbas honoring our founders shrine.

Re: 12 May - MQM Rally for Independence of Judiciary.

anyone else see the irony of this post? :)

Re: 12 May - MQM Rally for Independence of Judiciary.

All I see is an unsubtantiated lie...there is no instant of any JI worker cursing Quaid...however, the same cannot be said that big fat kaala naag altaf who on his trip to india cursed the legacy of quaid by spitting incoherently in his azizabadi hinglish something along the lines of "creation of Paakistaaan the biggeeesst Blaaader in the hestary of Soth Hashiaa...."

6 killed in Karachi

upto now!

JUst heard on GEO that 6 people have been killed so far, by the fascist MQM.

KARACHI: Gunmen shot dead two opposition party workers here early Saturday, stoking fears that rival rallies by the suspended chief justice and President Pervez Musharraf could descend into violence.

The men were gunned down in Karachi as they put up banners in support of top judge Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, who is due to address lawyers and supporters in the southern city later in the day, police said.

Meanwhile supporters of General Pervez Musharraf are set to flex their muscles after two months of silence with a counter-demonstration in Karachi and a huge rally by the ruling government party in the capital.

.

More than 15,000 police and paramilitary troops have been deployed in Karachi for Saturday's rallies. The city practically shut down overnight and several main roads were blocked by lorries with deflated tyres. K

arachi police chief Azhar Farooqi said investigations were underway to find the killers of the two activists from the party of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, who was ousted by Musharraf in 1999. Another worker was injured. "

There is a very tense situation in the city now," he said. The opposition blamed the killings on the pro-Musharraf Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM).

Re: 6 killed in Karachi

Govt. saw it all coming and no preventive and administrative measures were taken. It seems like Govt. wants to see the situation getting deteriorated. Very sad and pathetic state of affairs.
