Sindh Govt imposes restriction on gatherings under Section 144 Cr.PC

Sindh Government has under Section 144 Cr.P.C. imposed ban on carrying of weapons, processions, public rallies, public meetings, at any place except marriages and funeral gatherings for 30 days, throughout the province with immediate effect. A notification issued here Sunday said, certain political parties/groups had taken out rallies in the city of Karachi on May 12 which resulted in multiple unfortunate incidents and created law and order situation besides putting life and property of the citizens in danger. Now, therefore, with a view to saving the lives and property of the citizens, exercising the power conferred under Section 144 of the Cr.P.C., **the Government of Sindh is pleased to impose ban on all processions, demonstrations, public rallies, carrying of weapons and holding of public meetings and gatherings at any place except the marriage and funeral gatherings, for a period of 30 days with immediate effect throughout the province of Sindh." **

^ Yeah first sat around like a buffoon while so many people lost their lives and now they are "pleased" to impose a ban. Idiots, if they had even an ounce of sharam they would have resigned but like their besharam leader in Islamabad kursi means more to them then the lives of people. Besharam zaleel insaan.

MQM is a terrorist group because it killed ppl of parties is opposes. agreed.

So the parties' whose workers killed MQM workers are what? terrorists too right.

Re: 12 May - KARACHI Rallies & Bloodshed (merged)

MQM, PPP, PML (Nawaz), JI, PPI, Sunni Tehrik, ANP and other parties were all involved in the shootings and killings in Karachi yesterday. They are all terrorists, and every single killer amongst them should be locked up.

Re: 12 May - KARACHI Rallies & Bloodshed (merged)

We are all saddened by this loss. The current of public opinion against Musharraf is getting stronger everyday, which eventually manifested itself in the massacre yesterday. In my opinion cooler heads r needed right now. As much as I hate Musharraf, I dont think its a good idea for him to be booted out abruptly. It'll lead to more anarchy and instability. I think we can get out of the jam we are in if the govt. takes the following steps:

1- Musharraf promises to retire from Army and stand as civilian Presidential candidate. If he really thinks he has vast support as demonstrated by the rally in Islamabad, and the iron grip of MQM in Karachi, he really doesn't need the unifrom.

2- Call elections earlier than scheduled.

3- Let the courts decide the CJ matter, and both parties avoid out of court barbs.

I hope some good comes out of this turmoil.

Re: 12 May - KARACHI Rallies & Bloodshed (merged)

Benazir called Mohajirs "rats", then denied it. Her government was responsible for the extra judicial killigs, kidnappings and torture of 10,000 mohajirs during the 1993-1996 period. Upto 50 people EVERY day were being relentlessly slaughtered by the rangers and the police on the orders of Benazir Bhutto and her Pashtun General Naseerullah Babar. That was state terrorism pure and simple.

Re: 12 May - KARACHI Rallies & Bloodshed (merged)

Pure nonsense only heard from supporters of the Murderous Quami Movement

Gen.Babar responded to the cries of the people of Karachi and cracked down on the murderous MQM so they could not kill like they did on Saturday

The MQM torture chambers were shut down, and the killers sent scurrying like rats.

If he did not, Karachi would have ended up like Baghdad.

For that we are eternally grateful to the great General :jhanda:

Re: MQM not a terrorist party - PML (Nawaz) leader Ch.Nisar Ali Khan (merged)

Sadly true, we once had a brave Army supported by it’s people.

But after so many years its has become so unprofessional and corrupt.

We need a professional Army of lions as we once had :jhanda:

Re: 12 May - KARACHI Rallies & Bloodshed (merged)

Karachi is not a terribly peaceful city in the best of the times. Both Mush and CJ should have known what they were going to cause by their actions. It seems lives of Karachi citizens was last on anybody's mind.

Re: 12 May - KARACHI Rallies & Bloodshed (merged)

I am so amazed at some of the posters here and their simplistic view. This guy is a thug, he is criminal....all these people are killers....they should be thrown in Indian Ocean. You guys defiantly think like President Bush.

For others who are considering what will happen next or who will loose from this tragic event need to see the loyalties rather bad perception. Mush never was consistently popular among Pakistanis. The only high point he gets is after looking at economy. He has failed miserably in rest of the area. From fight against Taliban, nuclear fiasco, Waziristan, Al-Qaeda and honor killings, Mush has failed to lived up to expectations, but he still rules the country. The only time anyone came close to getting rid of him was those suicide attempts.

People need to think logically, no matter whom you are; dictator or democratically elected President, you need political support. Does not matter how much public supports you. Even if the opposition is gaining ground, they only way to keep them down is divisions among them. This is not the first time a coalition was made to over throw Musharraff. The list is way long. President is still there, do you know where those people are?

MQM members, activists and people previously died because they were independent, they were a party at the corner of Pakistan that holds and carries the support of the main city. Before that I don't think they cared what other people think of them, now it may be different. This time they have put all of their chips on army, which was known as their main nemesis. Even if some of their members are opposed to the nexus, it is not that deep. On the other hand, PPP is showing signs of divisions. At one place they are supporting President, making back hand deals with them, other protesting and letting their voice heard by supporting and organizing rallies for CJ.

Outcome is interesting. Karachi, which had nothing to do with the whole incident between President and CJ, will decide who wins this showdown. Mushrraff is a chameleon, just like he turned his dictator image to politician. He will move his arms and put CJ on the defensive. He better be ready because so far only Mushrraff got the blame for entire drama. Now let’s see his surviving power. This, offcourse will happen on the dead bodies of innocent Karachities.

May Allah(swt) save the people of Pakistan from these atrocities. One must agree that Pakistan was much better under General Zia. Mard-e-Momin, mard-e-haq was just and had he been alive today, he would have not allowed these bloodsheds like these qatil Altaf and coward mushy.

Re: 12 May - KARACHI Rallies & Bloodshed (merged)

what kind of political message does burning a car send? honestly, the poor guy who owns the car will probably not be able to afford another one.

what kind of people destroy their own country to get a point across? and what point? simply ridiculous

Allah sub ko seedhi rah dikhaye. Ameen.

Re: 12 May - KARACHI Rallies & Bloodshed (merged)

Sooner the better. This CJ deserves a much needed chitrole just like the peons and typists got it in Islamabad. I am amazed these retard lawyers & judiciary ( :hehe: ) of pakistan have gotten this far in their naach matak. These leaches of society deserve nothing less. The day Pakistan is rid of these vermin, it’d be a day worth celebrating!

Re: 12 May - KARACHI Rallies & Bloodshed (merged)

The bodies aren’t even cold yet and they are already asking for money. Why does karachi need a pashtoon jirga anyway? This is not their waziristan.

Pakhtoons ask for compensation

Staff Report

KARACHI: The Pakhtoon Action Committee Loya Jirga (PAC) said that if they are not compensated within the next three days, they will announce a course of action involving massive anti-governmental movements.

“The MQM should stop terrorism against us. The entire country will suffer if we give up our peaceful policy,” said Shahi Syed, chief of the LJ, during a press conference held Sunday at his office. He said that 16 members of the LJ and the ANP were killed on Saturday and Sunday and that the MQM’s attacks were tantamount to state terrorism.

Syed added that the police and rangers were helpless. “Had we not changed our rally routes, thousands of our supporters would have been killed.”

They also announced their support for Monday’s shutter-down strike called by the MMA and the ARD and held the government of Sindh responsible for Saturday’s bloodbath. He further urged people across the world to voice their protest against what he called the genocide of the Pakhtoons in Karachi.

How is that racist???

Re: 12 May - KARACHI Rallies & Bloodshed (merged)

I am not being racist here.. You call an african a negro, an old man buddha so why spare Altaf? Why are you being so sympathetic to him? People like him should be taught a lesson.. Zia would have taught him a lesson or two by now.
