Calm down! How about sending in the Army to take out the TTP in NW, and boosting the police and intelligence to take on the militants hiding in the cities... No one thinks the Army should go into the cities. Rational people understand that some jobs are best handled by police while others are best handled by the Army.
Army has a visible presence in NW anyway, they never evacuated the area. Is that what you are asking?

I didnt ask a question.. i said they should be fighting the Taliban in their home base and leave the cities to the police..
They are present, but they are not active. Presence is not whats needed, what they should be doing is actively pursuing and attacking the TTP the way they did in Swat and other places.

Army went all gun blazing in FATA on so many occasions and it bore no results.
The cities are not the Tribal areas. There is state writ, however flimsy, in the cities. You can use the police for the purpose of policing the city. The police are better suited for cities because they know the city they are tasked with, they know how to investigate, they know where to find the criminals.
The Army is simply brute force, their role is to defeat the enemy outright with superior fire power. The Army cannot function as police, they dont patrol, they dont investigate etc... The tribal areas, where govt writ is nearly zero, is a place best suited for the Army as no police force could ever go in and clear the area. The Taliban are simply to strong to dislodge without Army going in first.
The roles of the two forces can be swapped when the need should arise. For example, if no civilian entity is capable of dislodging militants from certain areas due to being out manned or outgunned, and even the FC are incapable of doing the job, the Army can be called in. Or in a situation where the enemy is defeated and the area is controlled, where Army is no longer needed, the police can come in to maintain the peace and order.
They havent bore results because they have never been sincere in actually fighting the Militants. They have fought them, but they never fight them decisively. The clear certain areas, and then allow the militants to return to their safe haven and recuperate. Since they are not willing to attack them in NW, they always leave a place for them to retreat too. The Taliban are cancer, and you cannot treat a cancer without excising the tumor in its entirety. simply treating areas of metastasis will not save the patient, which is what the Pak army is doing by only trying to control the spread without attacking the source. The guns blazing thing is just drama it seems, nothing but show to convince NATO and others that Pak is actually fighting, when infact, they are simply allowing the militants to retain their grip.
Continue this way, and eventually the Taliban will have control over the cities because the Army and govt refused to stop the cancer from spreading.

This was not fairy meadows.......what the hell is wrong with you people??This happened on diamir side..not fairymeadows.........stop propagating the incorrect description... fairymeadows has a lot of tourists............. this will severely affect the local business of that area......someone change the title of this thread too..

it happened after midnight, no tourist would be awake that time to cause any mess
it could have been on rupal side of the mountain, that is from where most of the climbing expeditions head towards summit. and no one is saying it happened on fairy meadows, news is saying it happened near the camp 1, rout to that camp goes via fairy meadows (if its not rupal side)
and for this to be on rupal side, is very very difficult because to reach rupal face, you have to cross rattu cantonment of army

As I said in my earlier comment yes it's confusing, troubling times for the country but clinging to conspiracy theories is not the way to go. Constantly parroting those absurd theories and blaming outsiders and "bosses" is not going to solve any of the woes afflicting Pakistan.

Oh please if you are condemning taliban then that's good. We are all doing that. Those animals need to be wiped off. But if you are making some wild allegations about others helping the terrorists then please show the evidence. Othewise it's just ranting like a lunatic.

The first is is an allegation of outside interference, but its not substantiated…
The second report, more credible, but still will need to be further substantiated. If they are involved, and their is solid evidence, then put it out there and let the world know it.
At this point, no one believes the TTP are funded by RAW…

You mean to say until and unless you hear from a US source claiming that India/RAW is involved in disturbing peace in Pakistan you are not going to believe it.

you would be surprised at how many otherwise reasonable people do so. if its not india, its the US. the drones dont kill the TTP. they only kill the TTP leaders who are about to go rogue on their masters. their guns and com equipment are state of the art provided by nato. they are trained in 35 indian consulates right across the durand line. the "uzbeks" are actually gurkhas from the indian army who are embedded in the TTP. these theories are endless..
