Extremely disturbing news. Despite the security situation elsewhere in pakistan, tourists never stopped coming in this part of the country. This might be last nail in the coffin of tourism industry in pakistan
GILGIT: Ten foreign tourists were murdered late at Saturday night at a place called Feremedow here, Geo News reported Sunday morning.
Gilgit D.I.G. Ali Sher said that the killers barging into a local hotel slain the tourists from different countries, who were staying over there. He further confirmed ten foreign tourists were killed. The police have cordoned off the area and hunting for the killers.
This gory incident the first of its kind in Gilgit threatens the flourishing tourists industry here.

they were mountaineers spending night at a base camp of Nanga Parbat when they were killed at around 1 am. they include Chinese, Russians and Ukrainians.

What a start for PMLN government! They'd have to work seriously to counter this threat otherwise it would engulf the whole country soon. I have a hunch that Punjab could again slide down this path if not contained.

True that Ishratul Ibad is in bed with Sipahe Sahaba. Others like Hammad Siddiqi, Waseem Aftab are not there anymore but he remains.
Ishrat’s meeting probably was about how he could help Sipahe Sahaba kill more Muslims.

as per news, they were wearing [fake] Gilgit Baltistan Scouts uniforms,
last year there was an incident in Babusar area (gitidas) where men wearing police uniforms killed travelers
2 years ago, close this area on KKH, men in army uniform killed several men
few years ago, attack on GHQ was done by men wearing army uniform
all these incidents happened in the same area junction of Mansehra district + Gilgit Baltistan couple of kilometers of both sides
there may be many more incidents (in balochistan as well)
any idiot can understand that these security organizations will never conduct such acts wearing their uniform, but these security organizations are idiots enough not to sort out this fake uniform issue

Imran/ Nawaz want to talk to extremists who don't believe in talks. This incident is an example of their attitude.
Military solution has failed too. It is at best a stopgap arrangement, not a long-term solution. Drones have exacerbated the problem >>> more militant recruits >>> more violence and so on. Violence breeds Violence. just like in Syria (it is also stuck in a seemingly never ending mess)
One can just hope that terrorist attacks will subside (if not stop completely) once the Americans have left (and that's a big IF) Afghanistan in 2014
