Pity that MQM only used to ask for money, may be monthly 3-4000 (amount varied from area to area and business to business) but Amn committee asks for Rs 10-30 lac or your life. Give whatever you can. Someone very close to me just received a parchi like this in hearts of MQM controlled areas.

MQM walas are not saints, but don't underestimate Amn Committee. I was doing a project of mentoring school children at Machar Colony (near Lyari). The principal told that children are aggressive because of the things they see around them. I thought it might be domestic violence which is part of such kachi abadi areas due to low income and bigger size families. When interacted with children and asked 'what makes them angry'. Children came with answers 'We are angry with Balochs (Amn committee) who come all of sudden and kill our people.'. Amn committee is just opposite to its name. The driver of school who pick up staff from Lyari told that 'never go to lyari in pants shirt, they consider every person wearing pants shirt (they don't know) as their enemy (jasoos).
I lived in Lyari for 3-4 years, but now avoid going in the area. Even didn't go to attend wedding ceremony of a close friend. The situation is pathetic and its because we don't want to call spade a spade. Terrorism is justified with the terrorism of other party we dislike. There is nothing like absolute condemnation.

To counter MQM - Naseerullah Babar way was the best way - but instead they went for another monster solution - Aman Committee!

That is more like moving toward civil war. For years mqm ruled through spreading terror in each corner of Karachi. Now perhaps another organization has created on similar pattern. I agree with Mostar, Naseerullah Babur type operation is very much necessary to wipe out the pockets of terrors in each part of Karachi. The operation should start simultaneously in MQM and Amn Committee strong hold areas. Sooner the better.

This is a new method employed post 911, instead of removing the issue militarily create militias to fight on behalf of the state (this is reminiscent to the lashkars in FATA). I don't think if this would solve the problem or not but am certain of civil war being ignited through these tactics.

Yes, but employing this method in Karachi has totally ruined the city and its business atmosphere. Not just Karachi, it has even destroyed Lyari itself.
The biased provincial PPP's folks would rather kill the golden goose instead of living off it. They are dong everything they can to make Karachi Larkana, instead of making Larkana Karachi.

Then you would have to go back to the seventies when you idol Bhutto did "quota system" which also meant nationalization aka forceful takeover of businesses to be given jobs / reins to someone else and you ask why people were revolting later? I am all for moving on (has been many years) but have you ever criticized nationalism that even gillani did in his stint as PM?

Liaqat Ali's quota system was annulled only in a few years. But Bhutto's quota system continues even after 40 years of implementation. No comparison.
to Sachaydino. I am not an MQM spokesman. Times and again I have criticized MQM and Altaf of their wrong policies. So just replying a question about PPP's terrorism with MQM's terrorism only shows that you are no better than the same MQM people you hate to the guts.
Be a man. Admit that it was Zulfiqar Mirza who created Lyari monsters, who are now eating away both Karachi AND Lyari.

Operation of naseer ullah barber caused more harm but killing innocent people along with MQM people. I think any targeted operation directed at core leadership first will get the result. Lyari aman commitee/ANP and mutahida all are mencace that have to be destroyed at the same time. MQM is not the ONLY peroblem with karachi now.
