I used to get them too, I stopped waxing because of it. Although, I've heard you can ice your face to relieve the itching. Witch hazel is also supposed to work.

Is this the first time u waxed ur face? My face has the same reaction :( can't help with this but I can advise to never wax that area again

I got those the first time I waxed my face a couple of years ago. :( The bumps were red and awful and took a few weeks to disappear. I haven't waxed my face since.

right after the wax I scrub my face and put some witch hazel...stays okay.
my SIL used to put vicks vapor rub on her face after waxing...and it worked for her.

There is a product called tend skin, which can be applied after waxing shaving etc helps with the bumps and helps to prevent ingrown hair as well

Tend skin is incredibly drying for the skin. I wouldn't recommend it for the body let alone the face.
The skin has just through trauma, so you want to be gentle with it and let it heal. Apply a witch hazel gel straight away and then continue twice a day. If you get whiteheads, then dilute tea tree oil, gently swiped over the area once it's not so raw from the wax. You can buy a small bottle from the body shop but use once and sparingly. Spritzing your face with lavender hydrolat helps too.
No scrubs, gentle facewashes. If you suffer from ingrowns then you should consider electrolysis because the things you can do on the body to prevent/get rid of them are not suitable for the face. Waxing facial skin is a quick route to wrinkles anyway, as is anything that dries out the skin.

My electrologist recommends that is use tend skin twice a day followed by a moisturiser ???

Hiya, I'm fine. How is it going? No electrologist I know would recommend tend skin - they recommend keeping the routine as simple as possible. You shouldn't really be suffering from ingrowns once you're well underway with electrolysis. If you're not getting them, don't use it. Generally, well moisturised skin suffers less. I discuss rosehip oil in another thread, I'd recommend it as a moisturiser.

Hi , im good, geting there with the electrolysis, had about 30 hours so far! I get alot of ingrowns, which is why she said she woud reccommend it, but i guess you're right it's pretty harsh! I have actually been using trilogys rose hip for a while its really good!

For people who are sensitive and tend to breakout after waxing, we have started to apply cold towels as soon as we are done.
Cold therapy, icing and a good toner really help. The best thing is cold therapy.

Thank you ladies. I didn't ave any witch hazel so I washed my face with a chamomile-lavender wash, applied tea tree oil, and now I'm better... I still feel the pimples and bumps... Face doesn't feel smooth. Something else I should do?

You have to wait it out now...keep applying a good toner...the best one I have come across is by glytone with a 2% salicylic acid concentration. Its not even that expensive...like $11 on skinwest.com. Don't use anything "exfoliating" after a wax.
But next time you get your face waxed just make sure you take a second and go to the restroom to splash some cold water on your face. When you get home, you can fill your basin up with cold water, add a few ice cubes and dip your face in for about 5 seconds or so at a time.
This will not only tighten pores but also help lessen irritation.

^Cold witch hazel gel applied immediately after the wax does the same thing. It also provides a barrier for the skin.

im going to get my face waxed in a week and really dont want a bad breakout, what do you think of my idea
exfoliate with AHA night before
wash face with neutrogena oil free cleanser
get face waxed
wash again with neutrogena cleanser
apply witch hazel
would that be best in preventing a horrible breakout? also what about if i take aleve aswell to reduce inflammation?
thank and would appreciate your help im really worried my hair is really thick and coarse and finally my acne is gone from before i really dont want it to come back.

Do not exfoliate before or after! Apply witch hazel immediately after, if you want to wash first, just cold water as Reha suggested. This is mostly for the inflammation. Later that day, perhaps before bed, swipe some good quality, dilute tea tree oil as it's antibacterial.
