Did the prosecution really screw this up so badly??
Not even manslaughter?
Re: Zimmerman - Not Guilty Verdict
Muzna I was just gonna open this thread. Thanks:) for opening it.
I am so sad about this verdict, man slaughter is man slaughter. I am just shocked and sad.
Zimmerman - Not Guilty Verdict
It’s so sad…I don’t even have words to express how gross of a misjudgment this is
Re: Zimmerman - Not Guilty Verdict
I have to say that I am very disappointed. Based on what I understood of the situation, this had to be manslaughter…
Re: Zimmerman - Not Guilty Verdict
That the deck was stacked in favor of Zimmerman was crystal clear from the get go.
Re: Zimmerman - Not Guilty Verdict
Am sure there is gonna be a backlash!
Re: Zimmerman - Not Guilty Verdict
Actually the decks were stacked against Zimmerman including media Bias and the prosecution withholding key evidence from the defense. As well as firing the govt. IT chief whistleblower who finally gave the evidence to the defense. Even the police chief was fired for not wanting to arrest Zimmerman because of lack of evidence.
Infact, it is very likely that the prosecutors will face sanctions and possible disbarment from the the legal bar. Court cases have already been filed against two TV stations, CNN and NBC, for doctoring the 911 calls.
According to Florida law, Stand Your Ground, allowed Zimmerman to not retreat from a fight.
Re: Zimmerman - Not Guilty Verdict
well i hope their aint no riots in Inglewooooooooooood (always up to no good) ![]()
I am not very sure, but if prosecution goes for specific charges, jury would come back with a clear yes, no decision on that specific charge. It also depends on what specific question judge asked to the jury before sending the jury to the deliberation room.
What actually surprised me is that it was all female jury. Really? It was a case between a neighborhood watch person vs an intruder and the jury was all female?
Re: Zimmerman - Not Guilty Verdict
I’m wondering about that too TLK… from what little I know, I thought juries were supposed to be a diverse group of people…how did it happen they were all female?
Ok so these are the choices jury had
Zimmerman, 29, is charged with second-degree murder but jurors also have the options of finding him guilty of manslaughter or not guilty. He has pleaded not guilty, claiming he shot the 17-year-old Martin in self-defense.
To win a manslaughter conviction, prosecutors must show only that Zimmerman killed without lawful justification. To win a second-degree murder conviction, prosecutors must convince jurors Zimmerman acted with ill will, hatred or spite toward Martin.
Re: Zimmerman - Not Guilty Verdict
SAHSM* jury was going to give a not-guilty verdict anyway ![]()
*stay at home soccer moms
Re: Zimmerman - Not Guilty Verdict
I knew that they would not be able to show ill will or hatred without a shadow of a doubt…but I think that prosecutors had enough evidence/material to show that Zimmerman killed without jurisdiction.
Unless of course the information that I have at my disposal is doctored as Enterprise mentions above.
Lol, no wonder he was found not guilty
Five of the women chosen were white and the sixth was Hispanic. Five of them were mothers.
Re: Zimmerman - Not Guilty Verdict
the defense did a really good job huh? right from jury selection to closing statements…
Maybe prosecution thought that female demographics would go in their favor, but seems that they were unable to show the victim as a son of someone, and he came out as a black intruder in a peaceful non black neighborhood

^Maybe they thought the knock knock joke was really funny. ![]()

Re: Zimmerman - Not Guilty Verdict
true.
Re: Zimmerman - Not Guilty Verdict
Did Traywon Martin have a right to be where he was …Yes.
Did Zimmerman have a right to follow Martin …Yes, he was the volunteer neighborhood security person.
Did Zimmerman call 911 about a suspicious person…Yes
Did 911 tell Zimmerman not to follow Martin…No, these were doctored calls by the media
did Zimmerman have a right to get out of his car and question Martin… Yes, he was the neighborhood security person.
Did he and Martin get into a fight…yes
Was Zimmermsn losing the fight and was in fear of his life…Nobody knows
Could Zimmerman kill Martin in that your situation…yes, Florida law, Stand Your Ground, allows someone to not run away but actively engage someone when you afraid of your life.
This situation could have been avoided if Martin had just answered Zimmermans question without getting into a fight.
