Re: Ziaul Haq to be deleted as president from history
Actually if i recall correctly the Musharraf regime did start work on rehabilitating some power plants. The 1000 MW we should be getting soonish started under Musharraf's regime.

where was all this biatching when the country was going to hell in Musharraf's 9 years. then, everyone was sucking on their choosnis. but now everyone's got teeth.
Everyone was right here biatching about the issues, only you were living in a cave or you only started looking at govt criticism when it came to your beloved jiyala govt.
what is this obssession with cheeni. you won't die if you don't drink five cups of chair per day each with three tablespoons of sugar. learn to live without sugar. you won't die. trust me.
Very good answer, what else to expect from jiyala govt? Learn to live with sugar, tomorrow we will have to learn living without meat/poultry. Thanks for starting "learn to live without" slogan, it could be the best thing provided by PPP govt.
should the govt pump petrol out of its behind? we have to buy it from other countries. if the international rates are low, you will get it cheap. if international rates are high, you will pay more for it.
You clearly didn't follow the rate hikes few weeks ago.
but all the other things people keep accusing him of notably promoting drug and Kalashnikov culture are nothing but an eyewash. Those things would have happened regardless of who would have been in power then. What do you really expect when you have 4 million 'uninvited' refugees - most of them not known for any special skills other than drugs and arms - suddenly invading your western borders!
We had huge number of "uninvited" refugees, you know why? Because Zia didn't contain them to refugee centers. Read about it how Iran handled refugees.
Everyone was right here biatching about the issues, only you were living in a cave or you only started looking at govt criticism when it came to your beloved jiyala govt.
Nope, only after 6,7 years of the Mush govt, after the Chief Justice episode did people finally start 'biatching'.
Before that, people kept quiet while he looted and killed.
Yes, some people started biatching only after CJ episode, some people still don’t biatch against Mushy… but some like have been doing from start ![]()

This is wonderful question. However our lawmakers will have some answer but at present this all constitutional amendment is hanging itself due to a s**uicide attack of N$ **.
Re: Ziaul Haq to be deleted as president from history
es government ke paas koi bhi kaam nahi hai.. loot maar, province ka naam change and now history change..

Why is it necessary to fill up the blank space? We don't have to. Just leave it the way it is.
Re: Ziaul Haq to be deleted as president from history
Frankly Roger rabbit would be a great president. :D But what the Pakistani people need to learn to do is stop living in the past and move towards the future. Forget ZAB, forget Zia, Ayub and all that. Concentrate on the here and now. We have much bigger problems than rewriting history.
Zia-ul-Haq, founder father of present day jehadis and suicidal bombers, worst thing happened in the history of Pakistan. Had he not in the army, he was not more than a chaprasi of government office. His advisers were all evils and burnt with him over Cholistan desert. Let his name remain in the history so that comming generations curse him like Iblis is and will be cursed till dooms day. He was satan disguised as human called himself Amirul Mominin.
Re: Ziaul Haq to be deleted as president from history
another pathetic act, worst or good, it has been our history, I dont think history can be rewritten :) what are they talking about? so what will they write about all those years when zia was in power? ok not president may be by other dictator name? still be part of history!
history is based on facts even we hate it. and from worst history many nations learnt lessons. we can do the same.
instead of doing some real work for the masses, current govt more busy in renaming and rewriting history :)
Re: Ziaul Haq to be deleted as president from history
Seriously *** who slander Zia-ul-Haq for supporting the Mujahideen in Afghanistan have no idea what they're spewing. Wasn't for the Mujahideen in afghanistan, Allah knows what would of happened in that region (including Pakistan) there would of been more bloodshed! So be thankful. Man might have so many wrongs but doesn't make his other actions wrong. Grow up.
this does not distort history. all it does is punish the worst ruler that this country ever had for his misdeeds.
if this distorts history, then no one should ever be punished. why court martial people? why fire people? because you want to punish them and the record will show that they were punished and hence, removed from their ranks and their privileges taken away.
history will show that Zia was an army chief, who murdered an elected prime minister, became a dictator, elected himself as president... and eventually was stripped of his status as a president. nothing wrong with that. history will show that he WAS a president at one time but was stripped of this because he was a usurper. and needed to be punished. excellent step!
people who don't remember their past are doomed to repeat it. Zia was killed and went to hell but he was still celebrated by some morons. well guess what a decade later, Musharraf took over 'cause all he remembered was Zia becoming a "shaheed" after selling the country for three kilograms of heroin, one Kalashnikov and two and a half dollars. why wouldn't one want to impose martial law and get so much wah wah...
now, strip Zia of his presidential title and hang Musharraf... and we will see which mai ka laal tries to impose martial law ever again.

Good as it sounds good.
GEO Pakistan** 18th Amendment bill tabled, Zia’s name deleted** Updated at: 2116 PST, Tuesday, April 06, 2010
ISLAMABAD: The Federal Cabinet in a special meeting under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani on Tuesday unanimously approved the proposed 18th amendment bill 2010.
The bill is placed before the both houses of the parliament by the Parliamentary Committee on Constitutional Reforms.
Speaking on the occasion, the Prime Minister said the passage of the 18th Constitutional Amendment Bill 2010 will strengthen the federation and democracy.
He further said that the bill would serve as a landmark in the constitutional history of the country and that the people would long remember this achievement of their elected representatives.
Earlier, Raza Rabbani, Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Constitutional Reforms explained salient features of the bill.
He said it was a unique peace of legislation in many ways.
The most important feature is that an incumbent President himself has given away his powers to the parliament and the people of Pakistan.
Moreover, the bill will seek to repeal LFO as well as 17th amendment which were the symbols of dictatorial regime. General Zia-ul-Haq’s name has also been stricken out from the Constitution, he said.
He further said that the passage of the bill will take the nation back to original constitution of 1973.
This legislation has enjoyed maximum consensus of political parties on the issue of provincial autonomy.
He informed the cabinet that the federal government will set up a committee to oversee the implementation and to provide guidance in framing the rules that will be required for implementation of the provisions of the bill.
Prime Minister Yusuf Raza Gilani said 18th Amendment was a dividend of politics of reconciliation that would strengthen institutions and create balance of power between the President and the Parliament. “Today all stakeholders are on one pitch.
The President, the Prime Minister, Supreme Court and the Parliament are working in complete harmony and it is the biggest dividend of reconciliatory politics,” he said soon after Senator Raza Rabbani presented the 18th Constitutional Amendment Bill in the National Assembly.
“Politics of reconciliation not only made us achieve this great goal but also paved way for Aghaz-e-Huqooq Balochistan, NFC Award and successfully fighting terrorism with full might,” he added.
“It was the politics of reconciliation that the nation stood united in war against terrorism and it was for the first time in history of mankind that 2.5 million IDPs were repatriated to their houses within three months,” he added.
He eulogized the national leadership who, he said, were united at one platform for the supreme national interest. “It is unity in diversity to do away with wrong doings of dictatorial regimes.”
He appreciated the Constitutional Reforms Committee as well as its Chairman who brushed aside all confusions regarding these amendments. “I hold them in high esteem as they held 77 formal and more than 40 informal meetings to nullify the amendments of dictators. It manifest their commitment to the constitution.”
He said Benazir Bhutto and Nawaz Sharif realized the mistakes of past and jointly signed the Charter of Democracy (CoD) for restoration of real democracy in the country. “And these amendments constitute number of those sections as well as fulfillment of the manifesto of political parties.”
The Prime Minister appreciated the sacrifices of the nation and the armed forces in fight agaisnt terrorism.
He said it was not an ordinary task to bring all state organs in their constitutional ambit because if only President had refused, there could have not been balance of power.
“The amendments, this Parliament is going to make, are for strengthening the institutions, and not any individual as the dictators did in the past,” he said.
“When I met President Zardari, I said power is a musical chair. One should not go after a thing, that is not permanent. So we need to strengthen institutions and not the persons,” he said.
The Prime Minister said during his tenure in the government neither there was any incident of political victimization nor there was any political prisoner.
“What we have today, is a fruit of unity. No matter we are in government or in the opposition, let us pledge to stand united for supreme national interests,” the Prime Minister said and once again congratulated the Chairman and the members of the Constitutional Reforms Committee.
Re: Ziaul Haq to be deleted as president from history
Another interesting point is, why single out Zia? wasnt Ayoub Khan, Musharraf and another first and unique civil Marshal Law Admnistrator?? they were all dictators. why not delete all of them?

Exactly, Busharraf is not some saint as some people claim, he's as guilty as the leaders in the past.
