If you are not paying monthly, you don't have dish network-not by legal means anyway. Who did you pay the lump sum amoun to? A local guy who unscrambled the signals for you? You will probbaly get Zee Sports free with everything else that you get free. ;)
with dishnetwork you have the option of paying monthly or annually. He probably meant paying annuallly :)
i tried to subscribe this channel on 30th sep. as expected the dummest customer service in the world for past 10 years(dish network) had no clue about this channel. they told me they have no information about this channel and cannot order it now. they are always 2 weeks behind then their adds on tv.i havent tried since then. they will also be showing pak vs india series.its $19.99

another dummest mistake by the worst customer service(dish network). i placed an order for zee sports again today. they said it will be on in 5 min. i also verified to make sure its available on my satelite as i have is only one satelite for the desi channels. after 15 min gone by and not seeing zee sports, i called back. after multiple trials , the jerk transferd me to tec support who after a long time figured out that its on 119 dish and not the one that i have. dish network continued to prove that they are the dummest customer service for ever. i am wondering if i change to direct tv ,will they be showing any of the cricket matches.
it actually is checked off at 61.5 but they tell me its pointing at 148 and as such i can't see on this satellite. can i change the direction of the same dish rather then adding another dish.
Yes you can point the same dish to 61.5 thats if you know how to.
Here’s the list of channels available on 148. If you see all these channels in your guide than you have 148 otherwise check in the menu, system info to see what sat you are pointing to.

61.5° and 148° carry the same programming, that is mostly international channels, PPV sports which are occasionally used to broadcast cricket matches and few HD channels.
If you have 148°, then I think you live west of Rockies. In this region, 61.5° can be found at very low elevations (5-10°) for which you really need a very clear view to the horizon (forget it, if you are in Bay Area for instance) Your only choice then is to point towards 119° satellite. With that you 'll lose all Indian and Pakistani channels. So maybe you can ask them to install a second dish.
I really don't like this development. Sure PPV cricket can charge more but at least one is guaranteed that the live matches will be on all the time. With Zee Sports, Pakistan matches are at the mercy of Indian games. It's great that Ind and Aus are not playing ODI on Oct 4, otherwise ZSA will show that instead of the final day of first Pak-RSA test, which can potentially be very interesting.
Now if Geo Super comes state side and starts showing Pakistan matches, that'd be something!

Here is a bad news. India/Australia 3rd ODI will clash with the last day of Pakistan/SouthAfrica game. The ODI will start 1 and half hour earlier than the final day game.
The ODI will start at 3:30 GMT on Ocotber 5th which is 10:30 US (CST) on Oct. 4th, whereas the final day game between Pak and South Africa will start at 5 GMT on October 5 which is 12 AM on Oct 5th.
if the ODI ends on time around 5:30 AM then probably we might be ableto catch the last hour action provided if there is any action left.
I agree they should try to get GEO Super as well.
However we should appreciate that this is a good start :)
Instead of getting a new dish, there is a something called LNB re-point kit that will do the trick. Its available for Dish 500, Dish 1000 and even for Super Dish.
I had superdish and they came in for a service order and installed the repoint kit and I now I recived 110, 119 and 118.7 all on one dish. This is because all 148 and 121 channels are moving to 118..7
P.S. I have heard that the Geo Super is in the offering in the near future.
I just had my dish repointed to receive 118.7 signals (along with 119 and 110). I thought that the channels I was previously missing (Indus Vision, QTV, etc) that were only being aired on 118.7 will start to show on my receiver now. For whatever reason, I still don't see them. When I go to Guide (and I have it set to Show All Channels) I only see ZEESA 576 and it skips QTV, Indus Vision etc. Anyone knows why? I have a DVR receiver for 2 TVs. I have tried to reset it but didn't help.
You can get more than one satellite on just one dish, if it's DISH 500, 500+ or 1000+ with a twin or quad LNBF. Even then no dish is big enough to get both 148° and 119° satellites on one dish.
More over, most people who only have 61.5° or 148° for international channels, have Dish 300 which is the legacy system. It's not big enough to get two satellites anyway.
So the guy I was replying to does have to either re-point his dish (and lose international channels in the process) or install a second dish.
118.7° is a recent addition. Some of the international channels from 61.5° and 148° are indeed moving over there, but the South Asian Urdu and Hindi channels are not in that list. That's why you won't see Indus Vision or QTV over at 118.7°. They'll stay at their original location, as far as I know.
Regarding Ind-Aus ODI game tonight.... Doh!! I hope it gets rained out.
Ok, I am confused now. From what I have been told is that all international channels are moving from 121/148 to 118. Currently I only have 110,119 and 118 with my super dish and I can view GEO and ARY just fine on 118. So if Urdu channels were to stay at their original locations, how am I receiving them on 118.
Also, if you look at the following channel links on DN’s site, you will see that all are being aired on 118.7. I don’t see them in my guide though.
Also, this link(http://ekb.dbstalk.com/118list.htm) is a list of all the channels being aired on 118.7 and Indus series and QTV are listed there as well
You are right, I didn't know they are mirroring these channels as well on 118.7°. I hope the channels don't leave 148°.
If you are not seeing some of these channels in the guide, check out the transponder in dbstalk.com list. If you can't see other channels on the same transponder, then it's probably a pointing issue. In any case call Dish Network for help.
