Is it a result of some secret deal? or is it justice done?
saby ye bhee koi poochnay ka sawal hae
we r talking abt pakistani politix
yahan bhee kabhee "justice done" hua hae? especially when these political big shots r concerned
obviously its a deal
waise acha hi hae coz keeping zardari in jail was getting EXPENSIVE for the national exchequer. the man was so to say under imprisonment but in reality living in absolute luxury. jitna budget kisi chotay shehr kee poori jail ka hota ho ga uTna toh siraf hukomat zardari pe kharch karti ho gi. his imprisonment was hardly a real imprisonment.
his imprisonment was a drama and now his release is another dramabazi.
Well let's not jump the gun, he has gotten bail which is different from being released on bail. Anyway I posted earlier about how Zardari was in negotiations with Mushy's top advisors for some sort of a deal. Whether this is because Mush has realised what kind of idiots he has now surrounded himself with or is whether it is because he needs someones help to take on the Mullahs is another issue.
Why is it that not a single case against him has been proven in court over the last 8 years? Lack of evidence? No desire, by the powers at the helm, to get a final verdict? Could he actually be innocent? I mean 8 years is enough time to prove a case one way or another, no?
What gives?
Zardari is nothing but a scapegoat for the crimes of the army against Sindh and a political prisnor. The military establishment has been forced to release him after even its own chamchas could not understand why Zaradri was treated in such a way when the corrupt like Aftab Sherpao, Fasial Saleh Hayat, Ishratul Ibad are made ministers. Obviously because Sindhis have no value in the eyes of generals and bureaucrats. Zardari has endured a lot of propaganda and false cases that no one was able to prove against him, despite that he was jailed for so long. Once again the army has egg on its face.
I wonder when will Sindhis wake up to the evil planes of the establishment and demand justice instead of becoming pawns in the power games of the corrupt.
I kinda agree to what sadqa said here. If hes jailed, there are worse ppl out there, especially that @#$@#$ Chaudhry Shujaat, who needs to be sent behind bars immediately.
this has been hopelessly insane...
i'm totally totally dissapointed in everything. no matter what this is, a deal, justice or injustice, every one knows what an ass this man is. you name an offense mentioned in the Cr.PC, he has done it. and after years of lounging in on tax payers' money, he walks out free jubilant and proud.
what will become of our nation...
will the poor man ever get justice? will the big man ever respect law?
and who's been influencing Mush lately? the guy seems to have lost it. he lets him free, calls up the sharifs in jeddah...i mean where is this all headed?
in the end who becomes a joke? we the common ppl!
He should be sent to Falluja with Mushy and all the rest.
Why was he in Jail to begin with? If you can’t create a system of checks and accountability, don’t fart off your stupidity over people who take advantage of your ignorance and assbackward religious sentimentality. Matoos are to be blamed for the stupid mess of our country.

The joke was indeed on the common man, but not for the reasons you state. The sham cases against Zardari have been exposed as a political tool to suppress the voice of Sindh. The amount of propaganda, disinformation spread against Zaradri by the agencies was not enough to convict him in a court of law that is itself influenced by the army like every other institution. People are smarter now and we will not except anything stated by the establishment at face value. Credibility remains zero for the government.
And why do you think anyone is influencing Musharraf? Remember he is a general in the end from the same army that illegally hanged an elected leader and killed thousands of its own countrymen and continue to deny the people democracy.
Haris, its better to waste money on him for all these years, provide him with a first class jail (guess where they money for that comes from), put up some fake cases against him, than let him go right?
If he was indeed a murderer, or even a chor, how come they never proved anything against him? Either hes too smart (chor chori kar ke suragh nahee chorta), or hes innocent. Hes been in jail for 1/3rd of his life indeed, and I think hes beginning to like it there (evident from the huge smiles he puts up for the press).
I think Musharraf made the right decision. Der aye, durust aye.

now come on irem....the guy was behind the bars for 8 years......he wasted 8 years of his life in jail....he was offered to strike a deal so many times before but he refused.........i mean give me one single example when a politician in pakistan was jailed for such a long time....by the way i am anti-PPP but i admire zardari's courage to stay in jail for 8 years.......remember it is not a problem in pak to come out of jail within 24 hours should you chose to strike a deal with authorities...it never takes 8 years to do so...give the guy due credit ....will ya....

From his state of health, Pak jails are pretty good ;)
BTW his rate is going up to compensate for the loss of bribes durign 11 years. As a brand-spanking new "investment minister" he will be entitled to charge extra 5%.
So he will be known as Mr. 15%.
^ oh yeah, he had a VIP jail, with all the goodies ;) He could even go out and roam around anytime he wanted
Zardari’s release
We were discussing at our home about the CM of Sindh’s omnious remarks after Asif Zardari’s relaease from jail. It didn’t go down too well with people at all. A person at such an important post should avoid dishing out such statements, for such remarks can’t be considered as mere rambling on his part. Who know’s he was actually trying to hint at some conspiracy behind Asif’s release…
Zardari sees assassination omen in Rahim’s remarks
http://www.dailytimes.com.pk/default.asp?page=story_28-11-2004_pg1_1
KARACHI: Asif Ali Zardari on Saturday called the statement of Sindh Chief Minister Arbab Ghulam Rahim that he had been more secure in prison than in freedom as a forewarning that he could be assassinated.
“Why shouldn’t I take him seriously?” said Mr Zardari, the husband of former prime minister Benazir Bhutto, recently released on bail after eight years in prison.
Mr Zardari said in an interview with Daily Times at Bilawal House that the chief minister was either “trying to save his skin” in saying this or “ratting” on the government.
There was considerable security at Bilawal House, security provided by the government Mr Zardari emphasised, implying the authorities were acting defensively after Dr Rahim’s remarks.
Sick in hospital till the last day of his imprisonment, and home healthy on the first day of his release? Sure.
Zardari was/is a corrupt person to the core. The reason why the cases that were registered against him were never followed up is because the government could never find witnesses willing to testify against him, since he had 'personally' threatened people if they testified. NAB had had as hard a time chasing down witnesses as they did chasing down zardari.
There was some talk of him being put on the ECL to prevent him from going abroad. I think they should remove his name from the ECL, and allow him to travel abroad. Just dont let him return.

Akif bhai, how are you so sure he threatened people (in two seperate regimes that abhorred him), which is why no one spoke against him.
I am not saying hes innocent, but trust me, he should be given a national award for doing safaya without leaving the slightest trace. Even his enemies in power couldnt do anything to him.

Spock...im aware of one such case personally. The witness was asked by NAB to testify against zardari, and the witness was threatened by zardari from his jail cell/resort, through 3rd parties, as a result of which, the witness began evading NAB. The NAB folks resorted to tactics used to hunt and arrest criminals, just in order to get a hold of the witness to have them testify, but the witness feared for their life, and disappeared for a while, till NAB eventually gave up on them.
Its no exaggeration when one says that Zardari has gotten hundreds of people killed. Its too sad that our law enforcement authorities are manipulated by politicians to their benefit, and to the loss of the citizens, otherwise, if justice was truly to be served, Zardari would be serving many life sentences in a C class prison.
