I do not support Altaf or MQM but being a fair-minded person I do credit Altaf with bringing urdu-speaking people into main stream politics in Pakistan. Let's not forget there was some discrimination against them despite being educated and capable.
Besides urdu speaker(s) does not equal MQM. Many do not support MQM because of their violence and terrorism

I must agree with you on Altaf's tactics, I am not his fan nor does i like him but he have done great since Feb 2008 elections and he is becoming a nation-wide political force, if he continued the good work and MQM continued to produce people Like Mustafa Kamal, then i think this party can become a ruling party on it own.. but we have seen in the recent history that MQM can shift gears in minutes and they are good in shooting themselves in the foot... so lets wait and see on this issue
