With the kind of partisanship on display here, I don’t know how useful it is to post anything objective but I’ll give it a try.
Corruption is a fact of life in Pakistan. The PPP lot were no more or less corrupt than the present lot or all the other parties around at the time.
The reason everyone thinks that they were more corrupt is because the media-SC nexus was campaigning against PPP as soon they got in. Geo and that corrupt to the core CJ ran a campaign to malign ppp and that’s what people base their opinion on.
It was a Herculean feat to survive for five years despite the most powerful players trying to bring them down. I mean we started hearing how Pakistan was going to be bankrupt within a month or two of Zardari coming in.

It is really great to see PPP leaders supporting Geo only for the cause of independence of the media and right of expression .
