brother, you have the option to give from zakaat fund or from your pocket as sadaqa…he will be helped in for sure.

you should not feel embarrassed or awkward because Allah has allowed you to give zakaat to anyone except your parents…people give zakaat to their own siblings…it’s NOT an embarrassment on your or the recipient’s part…this is their Haq as ordained by Allah.

but again, at the end, it’s your choice…what i am suggesting is that it’s OK to give zakaat to near/dear ones.

KKF sometimes people consider it embarrassing to accept zakat considering that they are in temporary financial crisis. Thats where my problem starts. I want to help the family, but without embarrassing them.
