Zaid Hamid has a large following for some reason. I think his speech in Peshawar was attempted to be hijacked by PSF or Taliban supporters or even both.
Anyone understand whats going on? The cult of Zaid Hamid is growing. touches a lot of Pakistanis hearts because he speaks a lot of truth although at the same time he avoids a lot of issues and possibly even lies and like every other one in Pakistan - he will propbably be someone elses puppet.

to be very frank to me what he says is nothing new and has been told and told in muslim world we like to live in fantasies a perfect islamic system khilafat dominating the whole world.
when you say he touches people hearts well hitler was a great orater as well he used to speak what people wanted to hear but in the end he was a monster.
i have seen his numerous programs and some of them were good specially muslim warriors but the way they were presented and their content was disgusting, full of bragging and what i hated most was the way he referred to hindus.
although muslim warriors conquered delhi but history is full of great warriors from hindus and one i admire most is raja poras great warriors donot always win.
what i dont know who pays for him, specially in initial stages when he used to do program on tv one for half hour.
based on my understanding he is a anarchist , a person without a real and practical plan for what he speaks, although he has great plan for himself the way he has grown in fame.
he supports pakistan internal war, he is anti ttp, many people question whether he is cia over this aspect. to be fair he has said pk army should cut supplies, but his lack of harsh words for pak army signals suspicion to those who are anti pak participation in afghan war. he prefers to put the blames on the civilian government, this again is very disputed because army was in charge till two years ago and policy hasnt changed since
otherwise he really gets the pakistani crowds going because he arouses jazba-e-gehad, he is pro afghan talibs, he is pro pak army and pro khalifat. overall he is popular
i dont want to comment on yesterdays happenings in karachi, because so little is known but these are very significant. we'll have to wait for more infomation
zaid hamid is just another talking head that tell people what they want to hear and makes a buck by brainwashing kids. no different from the radical mullas brainwashing kids
another blood sucker bug
well organized stage drama WAKE UP
don know why nation trying to put there hands again and again
in same hole which is full of posioned snacks
@ shardmanny - there is a trend in both the supporters of the civilian governments and supporters of military rule to forget the faults of either. I do notice that Ahmed Quraishi and Zain Hamid barely criticise Musharaf and when they pointed out his bad points it was done in a way which assumed that he was human and like other humans he committed wrongs. however, he does not treat others in the same way.
Pakistan's problems are on-going - they did not start from Zardari, Musharaf, Nawaz, Benazir, Zia ul Haq etc - some of these problems go back 100's of years even before the british time. When the British left there should have been a revamped system and not a continuation of the feudal colonial system which benefits a small minority.
Musharaf used to get a lot of hate here for being an American dogs body and hoe he sold himself to America for a small price. Now that Zardari and his partners ie MQM and ANP are continuing the same policy there are very few protesting about it.
@ junaid - sometime in the future we will see a caliphate with arrival of Imam Mehdi and the return of Jesus (peace be upon him) so its not just fantasy. I support any system which is based on fairness and justice. A caliphate will certainly solve the problems of Muslims as it will give them unity, a code of conduct at least. the present system and the way the countries are drawn out will lead to nothing but conflict. The UN means othign for non-western countries they dont see any real beenfits o it. The European Union, NATO are examples of how countries unite over common agenda and aims. We have the OIC but that cant even do anything about Israel.
One thing is clear the protocol and security and the venues he get for example all the top-class universities and the national center Islamabad.. he is clearly having backing from Army.. .. second reason for this belief is, he never criticize Army or Generals including Musharraf but he does say a lot of crap about politicians !

well chilly & milly neither Army & civilian bureaucracy are holy cows, when this sucker Hazrat Zaid Hamid (R.A) channel one waley start critisizing everyone i will give him a some good words, right now he is just a preacher of hate and a low life scum
clearly another ideological terrorist rat custom bred by the geniuses in GHQ...
first they fed kids bs through their textbooks... now they're doing it through TV and the likes of Zaid Hamid, etc.
and it might be fashionable to hate politicians for their supposedly infinite corruption... but once one gets past one's teens, things become a lot clearer. there is a reason why the common ppl support Benazir Bhutto, Nawaz Sharif, etc.
After researching a bit & reading a bit of history of him such as him being a part of JI in student life & the reasons of transfusion from hamis zaman to hamid zain, I quite doubtful about his agenda.
There is high probability that he might be a tool of the same mafia who used OBL to exploit the uneducated naiive masses of pakistani and other muslims around the world into comitting acts of terror. But through hamid zain, they are attracting or looking to exploit the 'mildly' educated but still naiive youth of pakistan. The end result could be more & more destruction of pakistan & pakistanis.
I would rather follow IK with no mysterious past & who emphasis on EDUCATING the pakistani youth by providing them with neccessary skills so that they can be useful & constructive members of the society & the world rather than radicalise them even more (as if there are any less radicalized ones already) for a twisted version of Jihad.
I know in his speeches he says all the good things about jihad and the people of pakistan but with a myterious past, I am really not sure whose agenda he is here to serve.
as always, we as a nation never like to accept anyone's choice of own speach ideas. we always criticise each other!!! always try to find flaws in others to support own argument.
Now if He has support, and he talk sense, idealist views doesnt mean these have to be practical. Ideas and visions are never tactical in nature, they are for inspiration. true or wrong, sadly we dont have a single leader at present from Politics or Army who has atleast a vision or ideas for Nation of Pakistan.

they are worst than that, atleast terrorist come out and declare their agendas whatever they do or try to do. Politicians (not all) are worst enemies of Pakistan saying something, doing something else altogether. not serving the people but serving themselves or eachother with loot and plunder.
by saying that I am not supporting any holy cows as these doesnt exist anywhere.
just for a sec tell me about any vision Asif Zardari and Nawaz Sharif or anyone else has well for not for themeselve I am talking about about fate of a nation? your input on this will be highly appreciated!!!
Apart from all the conspiracy theories , which I won't care at this point , he is encouraging nationalism and patriotism . Something we are lacking these days . We need couple of more people like him to balance out the anti-Pakistani forces .
But he use propaganda and myths as a weapon , which is not very useful in the long run without any practicality behind them .
