Re: Z in urdu

^ wow 3 posts... so looks like Masti is gathering all his friends here to support his and his friends' point of view.

FYI, WE DO NOT MAKE "KEERA MAKORAS" WHILE WRITING URDU LIKE THEY MAKE WRITING THE STREET LANGUAGE. AS I SAID, STOP DREAMING THAT YOU OR YOURS WOULD EVER BE EQUAL TO US IN ANYTHING.

Re: Z in urdu

TNWB did you read my post in the previous page? That could clear some of the erroneous ideas you have on the origin of Urdu.

Re: Z in urdu

URDU, ARABIC, PERSIAN ARE WRITTEN THE SAME WAY............. RESPECTFULLY. There is a charm... no keera makoras.

I do not have time to waste here right now. i gtg. i would hopefully, be back soon and crush those "bachi kuchi" dreams of those paki-lovers.

Re: Z in urdu

TNWB, this shows how shallow your knowledge of these languages is. Arabic script is one thing and the Arabic language is another. Did you know that Arabic script is used for writing languages as diverse as Bahasa and Zulu? I have seen Mopla Muslims from Malabar who write Malayalam in Arabic script. Now tell me Malayalam is derived from Arabic or Persian. Makes me wonder what height jingoists can go to. Accepting the truth does not make you inferior or cowardly, running away from it and making false theories does.

Re: Z in urdu

ditto… I’ve seen that too.

ab-e-hayat, I have however read the history of the language where its been said that Urdu belongs to the Persian branch of languages. True, it did not originate in Iran, but was carried with the lashkars to India where it got synthesized with Sanskrit. Read my post on the previous page. BTW I for one have no problems in accepting the fact that rasm-ul-khat and partial vocabulary is the only thing Urdu shares with Arabic and Farsi… the grammar and the semantics of speech are more like Sanskrit.

Re: Z in urdu

lol, where has Irem disappeared to?

Re: Z in urdu

looks judwa bhai to me!!

Re: Z in urdu

^ see this is what i mean, 'judwa'?

Re: Z in urdu

think he meant zudwa

Re: Z in urdu

Umar, I must disagree here on the origin part. I am not sure of the authenticity of the claims that it is based on Persian because I have studied a lot of material from independent unbiased sources and they all uniformly classify it as Indo-Aryan. If you think logically, if a foreign authority wants to rule some country, they would communicate with the locals in a language that they can understand. This is how and why Urdu originated. It is kind of a transition from an Indic Hindi to Iranian Farsi. The idea was to construct a language that had a lot of Persian vocabulary but without compromising on the underlying Sanskritic structure. As time passed, Farsi itself lost importance and relegated to the status of a “court” language while Urdu became the language of the masses. Besides, you yourself agree that the grammar and semantics are Sanskritic. That is the basis for classifying a language as a product of another! Please think of it yourself and see if your argument holds.
