We are fools...We can only see what is placed before our eyes and we forget what happened in the past and what is happening behind what has been placed before our eyes...And when someone shows us what is happening behind what has been placed before us, we call them fools...Because what we see and hear is the truth...Whatever happened, happened...
When Hitler was waging war on innocent men, women and children and destroying others, the Germans all supported him...Because all they saw was propaganda placed before their eyes...And they shouted with Nazis, marched with Nazis and killed with Nazis...Because they couldn't see what was happening behind what was placed before their eyes...Then someone must have come and said to the Nazis, 'Look, you are doing wrong...Wel will oppose you', but the propaganda was strong, and all the Germans said, 'no, we are right...We are bringing peace to the world, and education and enlightenment with our bombs and our genocide...This is the only way to achieve peace...Don't you follow the news? Don't you read the papers? Our war is against the oppression in the world...Our war is against the other systems in the world which oppress people...So we fight other people...'
And so, the Germans marched on and killed many millions of people believing that what they were doing was right...They puffed their chests and supported the Nazis and waved banners and flags and flowers for the soldiers who marched on and killed more millions...
The Germans then started to hate and oppose those who stood in the way of their 'good fight'...They hanged those who opposed their views, tortured those who saw the reality behind the viciousness and looked down and spit upon those who differed with their views...
But technology was limited in those days...In those days the propaganda could only be fed to those that the Nazis could reach, namely the German people...If they could reach the world, they too would find people who would believe in their cause...
But today, the media is everywhere...In newspapers, on TV, on radio e.t.c., and people once again fall victim to propaganda...As every Iraqi dies, we say, 'it's for democracy', as every child gets blown up, we say, 'it's collateral damage', as every bomb goes off, we automatically shout, 'I must be the Jihadis', as every Sunni dies, we say 'It must be the Shias' and vice versa...Propaganda has taught us what to think every situation without looking into the past...
And we come to hate people like Yvonne Ridley who sees what's behind what has been placed before us, and like the Germans before us, we hate her for opposing views that have been taught to us...
