Yes it does matter. Another person saw the light and embraced it. Its quite a good news
No, iam sorry to say thats not the case. Apart from a couple of odd incidents in the course of History, the many thousands and millions who have converted to Islam did not leave the faith. Hence your argument is baseless.
I’m against all types of Zaat paat bullcrap or ethnic nationalism…
Everyone converted to Islam at one point or another… Yes the ancestors of the people of Kashmir, Sindh and Punjab were once Hindus, including a lot of mine (how else is my first language a dialect of Punjabi; an Indic language?), one I know for sure is my great grandmother, my paternal grandafther was the Khan of our village and everyone including the Hindus and Sikhs would come to him to solve their disputes and he took care of the law and order in our village.. anyway one day he heard from the women that the daughter of such and such a Khatri/Kiraarr wanted to become a Muslim but she was scared from her family, he sent word to her that nobody would dare harm her in his village and she should go ahead so she did and he gave her shelter and later married her when his first wife died and she became my greatgrandma, even later during partition a few Hindu women got left behind in our vilage and they converted to Islam and married the local men… But like you said we Muslims are not a casteist/racist people and we’re not tied to what our ancestors were.. If I have issues with certain people from Pakistan it’s not because of their DNA but rather because of the overtly Indian culture, we Pakis are on the crossroads bertween South, West and Central Asia, we’re not just South Asian so we should look a bit toward ancient Samarkand and Bukhara as much as we do to Dehli for our culture, we need to find a balance…
Only thing what irritates me is when Pakistanis who are not of foreign descent claim it thinking it makes them better because it doesn’t as ancestory is quite irrelevant, I know my lineage but I don’t think it makes me better than anyone else and I don’t care for it… It’s what we are today that matters, I’m a Muslim and a Paki (not that this makes me better than anyone else)…
If I was non Muslim working with some tabligi jamat guy, who is barking in my ear non stop about how I am napak and of wrong religion, for the sake of shutting him up I will probably convert,
And this conversion is purely based on convenience not desire.
And speaking of odd incidents about people converting back,
Do realize that Islam was spread through sword, people had a choice, when the conquering army of Arabia is knocking at your door and saying convert or die, I m sure they had a lot of choice (not).
PS; Do remember that this is my opinion, and what you have is just that your opinion
oh ho, this is not news, after all this is Pakistan, we need to know whether he is a shia or a sunni or ahmedi or deobandi or barelvi, which school of thought does he follow jaffaria, hanafi, malaki, hambali, shafai..
aisay hi thorri muslmaaan ho saktay hain aaap... tobah astaghfar ;)
challo good he found his way, I just hope that others, including those fortunate to be born in the faith find their way as well.
A few months ago I had had read that during practise, Youhana was so angry that he left some tour and went home. Why, you ask? Apparently some a-hole -- Pakistani cricketer i.e. a fellow team member -- had had made a disparaging comment about his faith. This incident made the news.
I wonder about the background events that led to his conversion.
