You're invited to a gay wedding..

Re: You're invited to a gay wedding..

  1. marriage is nothing more than a social contract. there has never been one standardized format for this either. go around the world and you will see all sorts of marriages. go back in your own family 2-3 generations and you'll see stuff that wouldn't work too well today. at the end of the day, they are social contracts - if the society has legalized it, it is real.

  2. adoption isnt the same thing as marriage. why do single adults adopt kids made by two people having sex? is that even an argument? one adopts to help raise a kid who otherwise might not get that great a chance at growing up happy.

lol

Re: You're invited to a gay wedding..

Depends on the menu.

Re: You're invited to a gay wedding..

A man (and woman) indeed is known by the company he keeps. The comments on this thread sure do provide insights on whose company one should keep.

Re: You're invited to a gay wedding..

Why Not !!

Re: You're invited to a gay wedding..

There is no such thing as gay marriage.

Re: You're invited to a gay wedding..

To add to what queer said, the only "natural" form of relation between a man and a woman is polygyny, where the biggest and strongest males monopolize all the females. Marriage as we know it came about as a way to reduce competition between men and to ensure the inheritance of property. There's nothing "natural" about monogamy either.

Same sex unions have existed in ancient Greece, Rome, China, Fiji, and even among Native Americans. They all predate Islam. Your only argument is "because I say so". Don't even bother replying, we're done here.

Re: You're invited to a gay wedding..

Let me repeat:

There is no such thing as gay marriage. What you are saying most like is same sex relationship.

Prostitution is one of the oldest profession and murder is one of the oldest crime.

Would you endorse them just because they existed for so long?

P.S Why afraid of an answer when say something? :)

Re: You're invited to a gay wedding..

I called them "union" because marriage as we know it did not exist. It was a declaration of their relationship in front of their community, which is the function that marriage serves.

If you want to make the distinction between "marriage" (a religious ceremony) and "union" (a civil ceremony) then I agree. I do think that in a secular country, both should have the same legal benefits. If you're trying to say that same sex couples were not allowed to "marry" thousands of years ago, then that's false.

Re: You're invited to a gay wedding..

Hell no, AstaghfiruAllah, there is no such thing as a "gay Wedding" it's still banned in most U.S states, and in the vast majority of countries, further as a Muslim wedding is between a "Man and a Woman". For a Muslim to go to a gay wedding would be justifying such a sickening union, what's next, will you go to a ceremony where a man "marries" his dog?

We're not atheist Swedes you know, I'm constantly amazed by the stupid threads in this area.

Re: You're invited to a gay wedding..

the usual comprehension issues

Re: You're invited to a gay wedding..

Lmao yeah....I would love to watch EDAL and Rush Limbaugh have a chat. At least they would agree on gay marriage. And then Rush would want EDAL deported.

Re: You're invited to a gay wedding..

You said we were done. Apparently we were not. :D

Anyhow. One can name anything what one wish to.
**
Marriage is between man and woman.**

It has nothing to do with religion. Since religions can be different and irreligious people can still be considered 'married' if they are of different sex willing to live for the sake of companionship, bringing legally, morally (and if desired-religiously) acceptable offspring and they have announced their relationship to community. It is a civil act not really a religious act per se.

Having said that, mere attraction and sexual relationship between same sex individuals is unnatural, morally unacceptable and religiously prohibited hence there is no such thing as same sex or gay marriage.

Key point is that it has to do with natural instinct of opposite sex individuals.

Re: You're invited to a gay wedding..

^^ @ghost that is exactly what I dont get about the gay bashers.

Re: You're invited to a gay wedding..

I have said many times. Gay activity is wrong. But no hatred for any of them. They can even be 'cured' as evidence suggest.

Re: You're invited to a gay wedding..

^ sure - I read the ambient temoerature and pressure during curing has to be maintained within a very tight range, with the curing duration a critical factor.

Re: You're invited to a gay wedding..

Is that so bad?

Many infected people are placed in isolation and are treated in close environment so they can be cured.

Re: You’re invited to a gay wedding..

:smack: Sarcasm…it’s hard for some people.

Re: You're invited to a gay wedding..

Indeed.

Re: You're invited to a gay wedding..

I went. It was very much appreciated, all of us who went. The couple were really glad to be able to have their relationship acknowledged publicly, just like a hetero couple. It was far more of a big deal for them than for us.

It doesn't cost you anything to attend. All it means is that you wish your friend happiness, whether or not you agree with their choice of partner.

Of course, they later became gay divorcees....
