Sara, seriously...it's hard to handle a wedding lehnga and be the bari bahu at a wedding just because there is so much to do. You really have to make sure that things fit and that you will be able to manage with minimal holding required.
If it is too long then get it adjusted. You don't have to take it to Pakistan. I know of a very professional seamstress that can do it right here in Mississauga. Let me know when you want it done and I'll give you her number.
Yeah it was really sad.. my other jethanis wore heavy sarees and lenghas and were still able to handle their little kids and looked decent doing it...don't know what's wrong with me, guess i'm just not cut out for nice stuff.
