On weeknights dinner is usually between 6:30-7:30. Lunch at noon. Bedtime around 11 or 12. Mom makes fresh meals daily. On weekends I cook so mom can get a break from her routine.
I have very light breakfast. A cup of coffee and a cookie or a granola bar.
I love cereal for dinner. I almost never eat cereal for breakfast.
The most unhealthy habit of mine is probably snacking on chips while watching TV at night. It’s hard to realize how much you’ve had.
Yes the routine is like this huby dont eat anything in Office so he is hungry he cant wait till dinner then we are so full tht we cant eat heavy at dinner
This is a sad story at my side. When we were in Pakistan it was joint family system. My FIL and MIL were retired so their all routine was upside down. They had late breakfast and late lunches so eventually dinner was late. I was working and I used to return home in between 3-4 and at that time I used to have a very light lunch followed by tea after 1.5 hrs. I always wanted dinner at around 8 coz by bedtime was 10-10:30. However it was a matter of discussion in our household. In summers my parents in law used to have tea time after maghrib which is around 8 and then they never wanted to have dinner before 10:bummer:. However me and my SIL managed this somehow that if u want to eat late its ur choice we would eat at 8:30.
When we moved after that yes our dinner time is usually early. However here sad story is my husband is doctor and he has no fixed time to return home and then masha’Allah he is particular for going to masjid and we are having summers here in Australia. If he used to come back early and maghrib is still at 7 so we used to hae around 6:30 but if not then its 9:30 which is so very not acceptable to me.
I cook almost every alternative day as we r 2 and one day i cook other day we have some left over which is enough. Some days cook daily too. usually i cook around 4-5 pm
I am quite surprised that almost everyone here eats by 7 PM. I am certainly hanging out in a wrong desi crowd, who have refused to quit old habits. The people I know mostly come home and eat snacks with tea, and then late dinner (8:30 PM and up)
They dont. every health situation that is a result of bad eating habits, can be found in our people. High Cholestrol, High Sugar, indigestion, big belly ..
Have not u seen my post that how i struggled while being in Pakistan to eat early and that was around 8-8:30. When we relocated initially I also used to present snacks etc when husband returns but then switched to dinner. However our dinner depends upon time of namaz. When maghrib would be around 6 and isha around 7:45 our dinner is at 8:30-8:45. Isha at 7:15 around means early dinner time. And when maghrib like nowadays is at 7 then we eat early if husband returns. Two factors determine our dinner namaz and returning of my husband from work. he has even duties from 8-10pm and obviously then dinner is around 11. However we dont sleep very early around 11. Moreover my husband sleeps very less in weekdays around 5-6 hours. Weekend he fulfills his sleep. We dont have kids yet so can afford mismangaments as yet
