Sara the colour thing happens here. I have two younger cousins, they are twins. Due to Allah, their colour is not the same. One is a bit darker than the other and everyone makes fun of her. Haww you do not look like you are blah blah's twin and what happened to you? Did you get tanned or something? She really feels it.
That happened to my brother too. He's my twin and he used to be shorter than me until he was 13 I think and everyone used to make fun of how he is so short and his sister(me) is tall. I guess that's why he turned out to be shy even though he is about a foot taller than me now! :(

TLK ,thanks so so much for showing us the perspective … seriously i am so guilty of some of the things … and i suddenly felt , wow , i never thought of the kids perspective .. we do tend to treat them like young adults … quite ignorant on our part
Though i never tell the kid i am taking their sibling away, but at times i have told them i will take their toy away… I wonder if its equally bad .. it must be , it comes under teasing doesnt it…

i don't think any other race gives a damn about things like we do, most folks are too busy enjoying life to pick on on their own kind or others for that matter. might be a cultural thing

When I was little and whenever guests from Pakistan would visit they would always say freaky things like 'Tum itni pyaari bachi ho, tumhain to mein suitcase mein band kar ke, Pakistan le jaon gi..'. Women especially say these weird things. I will take you in my suitcase, I will adopt you etc etc.
I used to get so freaked out and cling on to my mother for dear life because I used to think I will get put in a suitcase.
