Before the prophets death, yes they compiled it after da death of the prophet but it was recited one last time so all the words were correct. They had 2 start puttin the quran together at the battle becoz ppl invloved in da battle were dieing an they had memorised the verses of the quran so they needed those ppl. Verses which were written down were kept in a safe an then the quran was all put 2gether.
