Re: Your political affiliations!
You don’t have to see everything as black and white; don’t see only good or evil; right or wrong. There is always “gray” or middle ground.
I support IK but not his stance on Taliban or his association with JI (never understood it)
ZAB was intelligent but I have no hope from the present PPP. Governance is beyond them because the party is just too corrupt & incompetent imo
Don’t have very high hopes from NS or PML-N either. corrupt & self-serving
Liked Musharraf initially but some of the things he did (sending troops into FATA, missing persons crime. NRO, attack on judiciary, most esp. his association with corrupt, pathetic Chaudharies) did untold damage to Pakistan
Never liked Zia but have to admit that during his time there was economic stability in Pakistan. Did all my primary schooling in Pakistan back then. Even my mother who never liked Zia when he was alive realises now that (for whatever reason) inflation was under control during his time
Have no time for JI or MMA
ANP: Incompetent
Might have a favourable opinion of MQM minus Altaf
I was in fact a JI sympathizer before MQM days. Miyan Tufail Muhammad and even Qazi Hussain in his earlier days were people of character. Maybe because politics in those days was not a madari kaa circus. Opinions and positions on issues were very clear without jumping back and forth.

^ Or may be because they were not exposed properly due to media being not so open. Problem now is that it is not easy for them to do “tardeed” of what they say on live television.

Re: Your political affiliations!
Sometimes I wonder that why our political affiliations are purely personality based and nothing to do with the ideology of the party or their stance on certain issues. A party could change its stance, or coalitions, or even sway away from its core ideology, but we, like a donkey on a leash, just keep following the one holding the leash.
Having said that, how many of you have changed your political sympathies/affiliations/support in last 10 years from one party to another, and what was the reason?
I changed affiliations after careful consideration .. I used to support PML in their last tenure until I realized, too much was being shoved under the carpet and heck loads of family held positions ! no Democracy ..
But there wasnt any alternative , then IK came up and I decided to support PTI .. there is no looking back so far

Maybe. Plus we were not facing the same issues that we do now, so it’s hard to compare the politicians if that era with this era.
