I know a lot of people don’t like to think about it, but the reality is, we will die.
So have you ever thought about what you want done with your body?
Do you want to be buried in a cemetery?
Or would you prefer a family plot near your house?
ok guys plz dont throw tamataar at me:nono:i was just wondering…and just wanted to hear ur comments on that:chai:
P.S I’m gonna be buried. Everyone will wear black, and they will be celebrating like it’s a party:party:
anyhow - its better if one is buried in a cemetary. Being buried in a house is kinda weird. It also somewhat becomes hard on the people living there - knowing your grave is their, and might disrupt with daily routines.
When I die, sure: Cemetary is the place to be. Where basically all dead people gather. (and have crazY parties!)
you know, i was just thinking about this today...odd.
anywho, my preference would be in a cemetary of course, but i'd also like to be close to family. whether that be my parents, children, husband, etc...
just close to the people that i spent my life with...
btw, since we're sort of on the topic, are we allowed to have tombstones?
Tombstone?
umm maybe. But personally i would rather not have one. (prophets didnt, to the best of my knowledge).
Also, our Body returns to its rightful owner: "The Earth", having a tombstone is kinda useless. In addition - why not donate that money to some kid, or give it to charity for building mosque, etc...
You are dead - and a tombstone is not going to make any difference - in this world or the next. :)
well, in my opinion, i think a tombstone is beneficial for family. when they come to your grave, they have something there. and when they're kids come, and their kids...so from generation to generation. usually graves get eventually wiped out, but there's some sort of memory still there.
like with my grandmother, i know where her grave is. but will my children..? will my children's children. so coming from that point of view, i think it's a good idea.
but yes, i agree with you that you can use the money elsewhere...i rather my kids remember where i was buried so they can come with their children...

I think the grave will last atleast for our children to see, however our grand grand children...umm thats just going too far. I really do not see the point in them coming over our grave.
As far as I see the purpose of the grave is served in 2 generations - after that its not needed anymore (anyhow by 150 years, i am sure our body will be done with).
Memories do not require one to see the grave. Memories are rather formed from deeds either good or bad.
^ did you read that article about some guy from 'Star Trek' whose ashes where shot out into outer space in the capsule like thing?
that's very interesting. he's actually polluting the solar system.. (actually, i really don't know what happens with the capsule..i'm just assuming) :D
I hope my grave will be in a location where family and friends come and make dua easily, and clean up the area around the grave so its not one of thoses that has weeds and grass all over it!
Buried only.
No one goes before or after the time given to him/her. In the meanwhile try your best to end-up being among those who would be standing on the right side, and who would be given their book in their right hand on the **Day **that is sure to come.
This is all so trivial and trifling…My body can be burned for all I care…
My only worry is, in what level of faith will I die in? What sins will be with me? What goods will be with me? What will be my belief? Will my prayers be sufficient? My good deeds sufficient?
Burial and all that seems to pale in comparison to what really matters…
