Re: your funeral ............
My only worry is, in what level of faith will I die in? What sins will be with me? What goods will be with me? What will be my belief? Will my prayers be sufficient? My good deeds sufficient?
Burial and all that seems to pale in comparison to what really matters...
apart from the cremating thing i so agree.
i keep thinking about death nowadays and i worrry how i can account my life to ALLAH!!
and also if i die soon who''l be able to u/std n love my kids!!!!!!!!!!
it is inevitable but u still worry!!!
Re: your funeral ............
I'd like to be buried in a cemetry either in Pakistan or England, in England a coffin is neccesary so I'd opt for a cardboard one.
I'd like a simple funeral and burial, they can simply wash and shroud my body, pray over it and bury it in a simple grave without any gravestone or plaster, just a small pile of earth to mark the spot, my children and grandchildren will know where it is, my greatgrandchildren need not know because I don't know where my great grandafather is buried.
Re: your funeral ............
I don't think that when one is going to die, they think about their funeral. There are a million other small, big things that pass in front of the eyes and the mind.
On a personal level, it's kinda unnerving to think of myself as just a dead body, so I wouldn't want to venture there just yet.
Re: your funeral ............
I dont want to be burried. I know what I'd like to do with my body but that doesn't include burrying or cremating.
Re: your funeral ............
I'd like to be cremated ideally
But thats not doing anybody good
so Im donating my organs and then giving my body to the med school.
Re: your funeral …
AstaghferG-d, Jewish ullema say the soul of a person whose body was cremated can’t find peace in the world to come. ![]()
Re: your funeral ............
Ive not really though about this before, but first choice i think would be Jannat ul baqi, but that doesnt seem very likley, second choice would be waadi us salam in Najaf. 3rd choice in pak. 4th choice here in the uk, where they demolish and build new ones on top every 70 yrs or so.
Re: your funeral ............
you know when you actually think about it!
your body is simply a peace of flesh- the real you is the soul - Your brain has a mind and your soul is thinking your brain is just a thing- without soul it does not function so main thing to concentrate is the body. The moment soul leaves from the body- we call it a dead body but reality is at that point its a "thing"
As long as i get a space - this reminds me off victims of earth quake - they had to burry more than 5 -10 people together. *sigh....
I guess i am more worried about what will happen to me when i am up there. Inside the grave right away i have to answer my deeds i hope i have few things in my favor atleast...
Re: your funeral ............
Ma Mooli, I heard(by that I mean a wrinkly old woman told me) that in paks they can demolish a grave after 100 years... i dont know how much truth is in it
Najim, you can be frozen in liquid nitrgen if you like and then smashed to smithereens... and used as fertiliser for teh garden..
for those of you who dont mind cremation ...your ashes can be turned into a diamond ring, perhaps you can have a family necklace where each dead member is a diamond...
can be worn to family get togethers

I read about that in one of my mum's womens magz.
It's kind of sweet, if I had been with a non-Muslim partner who didn't mind cremation I'd probably have it done to them and have a bling bling ear ring made. but I'd have to have them cremated naked without any casket or clothes and I'd want all the ashes (bones and all) to be made into a diamond, it would feel incomplete if only part of the ashes were used and if other material (coffin, clothes) was involved.
Re: your funeral …
I want to donate all most of my organs and the rest of me can be burried anywhere, prefebly wherever my family lives. And a want a pink marble tomb stone ![]()
Re: your funeral ............
laizy, not if u buy your own little land in your own lil pind. :-)
anyways, IMO we do feel pain after death, we do hear and what not. which is why we read talqeen at a persons death. cremation is a scary thought.
Re: your funeral ............
Ms Mooli land prices are increasing
they say children nowadays are ungrateful, just think how much worse grandkids will be...... they'll sell of the land...
with you in it:p
Re: your funeral ............
What do you think of being flown back to Pakistan, etc. to be buried. I mean, I always thought the expense of it was a bit insane, but I know that it means a lot to some people.
My brother-in-law wants to be returned, but my husband said it's a big waste of money and that we should give that in charity instead, as it is more rewardful.
Re: your funeral ............
What kind of funeral would I like?
ahh, surprise me. :D
Re: your funeral …

yep i told my family not to mark it
Re: your funeral ............
our father has already bought land so more than likely will be buried in the cemetry there otherwise some other cemetry which would be close to where I die.
Re: your funeral ............
Allah (swt) will determine where and when u will die. Allah (swt) Says in the Holy Quran: Verily the Knowledge of the Hour is with Allah (alone). It is He Who sends down rain and He Who knows what is in the wombs. Nor does anyone know what it is that he will earn on the morrow: nor does anyone know in what land he is to die. Verily with Allah is full knowledge and He is acquainted (with all things).
Narrated by Abu Bakr
When Allah's Messenger (saws) died the people disagreed about his burial, and Abu Bakr said he had heard something from Allah's Messenger. He had said, "Allah takes a Prophet’s life only in the place where he wishes to be buried." So he told them to bury him where his bedding lay.
