Who was it and did you end up marrying him/her?
I was 15 when I got my first one and the guy’s mom said she wanted me to stop going to high school and stay home. :aq:

i could not remember who was she .. :S .. my reason for not marrying her was .. "I wanted to complet my studies" .. which i have not completed yet .. :d

first official rishta was a cousin. his personality was a nightmare. I thank God everyday i am not with him phew.

I don't know about my first rishta. My parents wouldn't tell me unless the person was really good enough plus they didn't start looking until I turned 22-23.
So first real one where I met the guy and talked to him myself, I didn't marry him. I am glad I didn't. He was a jerk!

umm i was 12. he was from my mom's side of the family and used to flirt with me. he was in his early 20s and told me he was 18 rofl. i didnt understand wth he wanted at that time or why he gave me so much attention until a few years later when my mom jokingly said oh you know they asked for your rishta last time we went to pakistan. soo disturbing

I will never forget my first! It was my Moms cousin who was alot older than me and I was only 13 at the time too! Yeck. I guess it was because I was so well behaved and well dressed when people came over, even if it was family. I dunno, I was just trained at a young age to play hostess and I actually enjoyed it. I guess I matured too soon but the poor old lady called my Mom for months asking her to reconsider. My Mom was thinking shes just a kid now! But her aunt said that she just wanted to "baat thay kar laythay hain. Shaadi baad mein"as in when I graduate hs then marry and continue college. Thank God my parents had sense to say NO
You females must have something that attracts the older pervs.

I didn't reject anyone just because .. some stupid reason or whatever..
I actually talked to this jerk to find out ... we met... he liked me.. i was like hmm good guy... good family.. educated.. all what not..
I talked to him for few months .. just kinda getting to know him.. He was big on good food. Which I am fine with, because most men are. My husband is too but if he doesn't get good food, he wouldn't care much. But this guy, I know was talking to him once or twice he was totally rude about "what the heck to you do all day and not make food for your dad ... " errmm excuse me! I kept listening to his crap and one day he just went you need cooking classes.. I told him you need to learn some manners and then talk about my cooking.. Hung up.. never called him back.
My thing is, don't reject people based on stupid reason which girls give nowadays. I did listen to everyone and really sat and thought about my future with whoever ...
My husband is amazing. My parents let me choose between the rishtay I had. Its your life, you choose but make a good decision.

Thanks ... but i am confuse about one thing. I have heard mstly married couple saying that marriage is "acceptance of disagreements" ... that's the thing confuse me that if you are going to accept the disagreements or difference of opinion in your partner then whats the point of judging him/her before marriage. But then all of sudden things pop-up in my mind like .. "marrying to someone tottaly stranger" .. ee ! i can't even think about it .. :S ..
and btw - talked with him for months .. .. for me its toooooooooo much :$ i duno .. Iam confuse about it ..

why is it disturbing? if the parents actually got their daughters married of at tht age then I would say its disturbing, I know many people who have been engaged at a young age and then got married in their mid 20's. nothing disturbing about it.
