The first PC I worked on was perhaps an IBM XT in university. We used two 5.25 in floppies. One carried code in FORTRAN and other one compiler. Each time, we compile our code, we get message “Do not disturb while program is being compiled” for a few minutes. system RAM was 640 K I guess.
