I've always had Dell laptops, because our company has a corporate agreement with them.

They're not bad, but I can't say anything about other brands, because I've never used them. The Sony VAIO looks really cool though.

I was crazy about Sony…used their subnotebook for some years and finally decided to buy a dell. Bought Dell XPS series and hell I’m very positively surprised. It’s far better than I thought. Screen could be more Sony like but rest is :k:

well,, I was just sharing my opinion.. I think that's what we r supposed 2 doo here.. I have always had a good xperience with DELL soo can't say nything bad..

What a jerk. Dont talk about computers when you have nothing substantive to say. Just saying "cuz i like it", is useless.

Dells are affordable. They're reliable. They have awesome service. That's why they're good. Lets hear what you have to say about IBM or Apple. Do you have anything to say about them?

In order of preference...

Dell
IBM (strictly for business though)
HP (widescreens for home use)

Sony Vaio (All rounder, mostly Multimedia)
IBM Lenovo (Pro Stuff)
Dell (All rounder at 2nd option, mostly connectivity)

I swear by my IBM/Lenovo Thinkpad. I have always had very good luck with it, they are quality machines. But the bottom line is, laptops are becoming more and more the same across the board, it is now the customer service and tech support that make or break a product.

Frankly, I don't care who fixes my laptop, since my work provides it and deals with any break/fix issues, it doesn't matter to me.

Dell.....Cheap and come with a mechanical cup holder......Just press a button and the cup holder slides out......Other brands do come with them but they are not that sturdy.
