Ok guys so who is yr fave pakistani fashion desinger? It cud be a desinger whose clothes u have seen in mags or liked or even if u yrself have tried designer wear clothes.
Also you guys must be knowing about karma…i was wondering if any1 can help me find pix of their butterfly collection. It’s not on their site either :(.
i’m not much into this designer craze yet but someone posted this link in another thread http://www.detailsdesignersden.com/
and i’m liking their designs better than others. If their prices r reasonable i might trying going to their showroom when i go to lhr.
karma’s collection was gud too but nothing i would normally wear.
tx for posting the link. i wl check it out and give my comments later. as for karma...the problem i personally think is kay they r not very creative with their motifs...they use the same motifs everytime.
I personally like MariaB partially because thats where I got most outfits from and I liked their collection but now Details looks good too... simple and elegant. I wonder how reasonable their prices are, if not we can always ask our tailor to make that design for cheaper prices. :D
^ lol true, but tailors in pakistan are such dumb head te realy screw u man, i think sobia nazir's designs are very contemporary and wearable as for normal routine and same for her formal collection very traditional and elegent
i agree with u Gemini that some designs we can achieve on our own n save a lot.it just takes lots of time n enerygy.tailors oly stitch but first choose fabric, get embroidery done,if needs tie die then go to a diff shop n get it done.
i hav seen mariab's lawn collection on website.its fresh.just wondering how much they would b hopefully not pricier than gull ahmed's :)
yay good people r participating in this thread-lol.
i personally dun like much of maria b's work but i must say i have seen her fancy clothes 2-3 yrs ago and i m saying this based on what i saw at that time...her lawn collection was ok better than that of yasir saeed. I have worn clothes by lajwanti and karma. Lajwanti's clothes 3-4 yrs back were alot better than what they r now...maybe its just cuz at that time what they were doing was new but they have not really done any diff since than. Karma's clothes look better and are stitched better too but again they show no creativity with their motifs.
As for getting the designer stuff copied...well i dun think u can get 100% same effect...maybe 70% max if u get it copied from a really really talented person...even if the design luks the same the fitting can neva be the same so ya. But i do understand that with the designer wear getting so expensive there is no other option. Just recently i have odered an pearl design embriodery shirt for myself from a normal shop at liberty...i m anxious abt it cuz neva b4 i have tried my wedding or fancier clothes from there so lets c how it comes up. If my experience is good i mite as well save some money by nt goin to these designers.
im talking about the link posted by Mabrook. They have cute clothes. and their website actually works unlike our dreaded designers with "coming soon" and "under construction- for the past three and a half years" messages.
well i've never worn any designer clothes (kabhi kismet mein nahin hain :() but i really like Maria B designs...i wud've loved to had her for my wedding dress but oh well.
about designer yaar marai b is goob for casuals and the list never ends
and i got many dresses from cynosure its well known boutique in liberty
they have nice collection
when did you go to pak and did you go to lahore? How quick is Maria b's service?

Neera, personally I went to Maria B in 2005(yep Lahore) and I bought four outfits, they did the alterations (length, long sleeves, etc) in just two days.. later hubby got me some from there but since he couldn't wait for alterations in Lahore, he just bought them and took it to the tailor for fix ups :D
I don't know if Maria B has more than one branch in Lahore, but the one I went to was in Defence/Y Block I think.
ps: the customer service was great and fitting was just perfect!
