Re: U R Experience in Pak Missions Abroad

**VERYYYYY BADDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD...here is why:

i took an elderly couple to Pakistani Consulate in Toronto. chacha jaan is is 78 years old while chachi jan is 75. both of them are Canadian Citizens of Indian Origin. They have a daughter who is now a naturalized Pakistani [married to a Pakistani]. the daughter is also a Canadian [she was born in Canada]. this elderly couple have been to Pakistan at least a dozen times b4. They went to the consulate to get a visa for their upcoming visit.

their numebr was called and when they went to the counter, they were met by this very racist, rude and mis-informed employee. he was extremely rude by saying that india does this and india does that so why should we give a visa to u guys. well, he was saying things that was totally out of line, rude and unprofessional. after all that he gave the answer by saying that thay have to leave the visa application and it will be approved from Islamabad and will take 6 months. they didn't have 6 months to wait coz they had to go abck to India. they left the consulate all disappointed and mad at the guy who mistreated them. i wasn't present at the time otherwise i would have asked to see his supervisor.

anyways, they desperately wanted to see their daughter in Pakistan so he send the visa application by mail. and lo and behold! their visa was there within 15 days.

now, why was that guy so rude and racist and unprofessional in his dealings with his clients? why did he misinform the elderly couple? why did he cause so much distress to these people?**

Re: U R Experience in Pak Missions Abroad

KKF! In November 2009 visa policy hav been changed. It will take 3 - 4 weeks for issuing a visa if it referred to the Islamabad. Some time its take 6 months or more than 6 months (depends and dealth on nature of case).

Better those couple apply for POC (Pakistan Origin Card). POC card is valid for 7 years and its a visa free entry card into pakistan from any departure port around the world.

I don't knw why the person behind counter misbehaved and its really un-professional act. I think he's like one of those person whom u'll find in every office who just creates problems and headache for others.

no no, it wasn't the case. if it was the case then why wud they get their visa in 15 days by mail. the consulate employee was biased against visitor seekers of Indian origin and he was highly unprofessional and these people have no business serving clients. he brings bad name to the country which he worked for.

they are Canadians and of Indian Orogin so he is NOT entitled to get a POE card. **

KKF! i already told if its referred to IBD only in that case. Otherwise the visa issuing authority can issue in few days. These kinda employees u'll find every1.

Re: U R Experience in Pak Missions Abroad

Salam,

I think its too easy to generalise and say the whole embassy is useless etc. When I went to sort out my NICOP, it was snowing and so there were heaters in the tent for cold weather, although we were waiting in a queue with no one at the desk for a very long time. The team on the NADRA were very helpful and talked to me really nicely. I got a fine for not topping up my parking ticket, but that wasn't their fault. I think going to the embassy is not for the faint hearted or elderly without support. Knowing where to go or what to do is quite difficult, I think their should be some helpful leaflets, posters or something. Maybe with more British Pakistanis working there as well. But my NICOP card was delivered to my house like within 1 or 2 weeks.

Re: U R Experience in Pak Missions Abroad

:wsalam: Emad!

The NICOP team working in embassy of they hav separate dept. :konfused:

Re: U R Experience in Pak Missions Abroad

Consulate in Jeddah, they have this whole metal shaded area outside that gets VERY HOT especially with so many people stuffed in the lines inside, the ac’s are ineffective and the people in lines are mostly the kind who don’t use deodorants so it gets really stinky. The service is pathetic, my mum and dad applied for NIC cards and it took nearly 5 months to get them, an ‘urgent’ passport takes at least 10 days to make.

Also the embassy in knightsbridge, london is pretty disorganised. I had to go there to renew my passport, wasn’t exactly a renewal but was supposed to be an extension on presentation of my ID card, they had this tent outside with different counters set up and I had no idea where to go, they made me wait there for an hour, then it was time for Jummah and the embassy closed. When it opened back up I had to go through two different lines before I found out I was just supposed to hand my passport inside the embassy and wasn’t supposed to be in the stupid tent after all.

Re: U R Experience in Pak Missions Abroad

rizla86!

choosing location is not in had of embassy or consulate. They r bounded by MOFA and MOFA by Finance Dept etc etc. To shift from one location to another, they need written approval + security + increase in budget etc etc.

When some1 submit their doucments. The embassy/consulate 4rward all documents as it to NADRA HQ in IBD. From embassy/consulate the NADRA HQs received and enter in their system within 30 - 50 days. Once NADRA HQs recieved the application they sort it and send to as per applican't domicile, to all over pakistan to get it verifiyed from domicile of each applicant. After verification they enter it in database, then they 4ward it to printing. Once the NIC is printed. They send back to HQ where finally they dispatch it from where its came.

To check the card status, u can visit NADRA's website and enter ur receipt No. without starting two digits "00". It will show u the details of ur card and latest status.

Urgent MRP are issued with 8 to 10 days and ordinary in 15 to 30 days (this info may vary). MRP is not simple as Manual process system. They enter data, check n verify then they issue it.

lolz! for u second para! why didn't u called them and asked where to go and what to do. Well if u didn't call for any reason then why didn't u asked some1 about ur query and where to go. :D

Re: U R Experience in Pak Missions Abroad

LKK, why are u trying to defend a mismanaged Pakistani missions abroad and their employee's misbehaviour? i just wunder. every1 knows for a fact that they are the worst ppl on earth when it comes to providing basic services to their clients.

Re: U R Experience in Pak Missions Abroad

I did ask them, no one knew what I was supposed to do because it wasn't a normal renewal. so each person would point me towards a different counter and basically just tried to get rid of me. And I didn't mean any offense by my description of the Jeddah consulate, I accept these things as a part of my Pakistani life :p I wasn't whining, just relating my experience.

Re: U R Experience in Pak Missions Abroad

KKF Bhai! Mujeh marna mat shur kr dena :D

Simple is that "Five fingures r not equal". There are many employees who are very pious always willing to help their community and ready to serve round the clock. By mistake of 1 or two pplz we can't blame the whole.

Re: U R Experience in Pak Missions Abroad

This passport can be extended without any fee on producing CNIC or NICOP. To do so they must have the following documents.

1- Original Passport + Copy
2- CNIC or NICOP copy
3- Form ‘C’ for extension, endoresement etc.

P.S. Purpose of this thread is to provide all information as much as possible to for those Pakistani living Abroad and facing difficulties while processing their documents in Embassy or Consualte.
