Salaam RajputFury, I'm from near Kậmra. :)

I've not been to Hassan Abdal but I've heard of it, our neighbours (a Sikh family) went there last year on a pilgrimage to the Panja Sahib Gurdwara. :)

WaSalaams yara..Khush raho :)

Been to the base at Kamra more than few times. Glad to hear from an Attockwal!

Punjabi. Langrial Jat/Rajput ?.

Ancestors supposedly migrated from lower Punjab to the Potohar Plateau near Rawalpindi, ~200 years ago.

I don't know much else. If anybody has information to share, please do so.

Sindhi speaking...a decendent from Raja Dairh (sp?)

Rajput - Khokhars!

Phattan (Yousuf Zai). Saif has explained well about the history. In sub-continent.....Babar fought with Yousuf Zai tribe for several years and at the end they had a peace agreement. Babar married Sardaar's sister and developed relationship with Phattans, lived in the area now in Tribal areas of Pakistan known as Parachanar and Darrah. Then these phattans took him from a short cut in the ranges to attack on India. Since there were thousands of Phattans in the Moghal forces they later spreaded in all parts of hindustan and were given governership and other high ranking posts in the states.

And I agree with you guys. The ethnicity in human race is just to recognize each other (as per Quran). Somebody has put it very beautifully here in this thread.....without different races..this world woudn't have much charm.

my hubby's family is from sahiwal...
i also got family all over punjab...so basically im a 100% pujabi kuri!

i m kashmiri butt
enlighten me someone

Now sit your butt down and chill.

I seriously don't know. Some people do ask where my grandparents were from in India and I have this blank look on my face hehe

I am a Muslim and I was born in Pakistan so that makes me a half baked ABCD :p

mom- 1/2 English 1/2 Irani
Dad- Pathan
Me- Pakistani "Pathan" Musilman

Until I entered high school I had no idea there were castes in Pakistan, I thought it was something that semi-existed in India but thats all. Call me naive, but I think I preferred it that way . I remember some girl asking me what my caste was and I just gave her this blank look. That night I asked my parents and got my answer.

I am Punjabi of course, caste is Arian. Most of my family from both sides are from a village near Faisalabad. My mom's great-great grandmother migrated from some village in India (can't for the life of of me remember the name). And my dad's grandmother was from Iran which explains his green eyes that I was not lucky enough to inherit. :o

All of this is interesting to know but it has no bearing on my life or my life choices. As others have said, I am above all a Muslim and then Pakistani

Are Gujjars types of Jatts?
[/QUOTE]

Jatts were the land owners...their main form of income was agriculture.

Gujjars were those who had cattle....

naa...it was more abt the MajjaaN, and milking them.

We are also Punjabi, Arian. I think people from the Arian class are beautiful I wonder who our ancestors are and where we get these good genes from, someone told me Arian people originated from Syria.:flower1:

Now it is getting more and more interesting here. Their castes and the origin of their castes. Someone claimed earlier that he/she was a Gakkar who came with Babar in this region, and now this lady claims to be an Arian who originated from Syria.
