Re: your electric bill

I don’t know about WAPDA but with KESC you can complain if bill is exceeding the units used. They adjust the bill accordingly.

Re: your electric bill

Average electric bill for my current apartment for month of July-Oct was around $260-285. Feel even better

That’s way more than I used to pay for my electric (ok we call it “hydro” in Canada  ) bill of my house in Toronto :frowning:

Re: your electric bill

wow! some high numbers here!

we’ve never had a bill higher then $180 … :hmmm:
our home (in socal) is large and equipped similarly to the ones described here by others … mix of gas and electric.

Re: your electric bill

house in socal and bill of 180

:hmmm:

I need to talk to kids and begum…

Re: your electric bill

sigh… california…

It may have to do with the weather extremes. in socal..the temperature diff. between hottest and coldest is very small..compared to say Atlanta or Dallas… so it doesnt take a lot to either heat up or cool down

Southern California remains moderate through the year. Up in the corner where we live, we fluctuate between 106F to -20F through the year. :(

D6C, where is your apartment? Are you in USA now?

your electric bill

Yup, dallas weather extremes will have you losing your mind…just this past week 78 degrees to 34 degrees in less than 48 hours

Summers and triple digit temps with humidity :hayaa:

Re: your electric bill

our bill in Miami :p $84

Re: your electric bill

where you @ TLK?

I am in central Washington, about 100 miles east of Seattle

Re: your electric bill

I live in a 2100 square foot house. Electric bill is around 250 in the summers and gas is the same in the winters and electric goes down to 70 -100. I think your bill is not bad according to where you live. In the summers I keep AC around 68-69 degrees. Winters day time heating is around 71-73.

Re: your electric bill

Yeah. SoCal

Florida :k:

I was there for a business trip for a project in Florida Powers and Light a month ago and when I heard about their electricity rates, I started searching web for an extension cord that can run under water from FL to CA :hoonh:

FL: Avg rate = 8c/unit
CA (SoCal) : Avg rate = 20c/unit

hence 60% less bill i.e my $250 bill will be $100 exact

Great move from GTA to southern California. :k:

Re: your electric bill

When we were renting in NYC in a 2 bedroom apartment we even had paid 500$ monthly in winter just for the heat bill but electricity was always on the cheaper side unless we were using electric heaters to save on the heating bill. Once we moved into our condo the heat and water bill was included in the monthly charges for condo which were around 400$(cheapest in Manhattan) per month so that was a relief. Electricity bill was always in the range of 60-70$ but that's because no one is at home during the day as everybody is at work or college.
Since I got married and moved to NC the utilities bill is far much cheaper then NY, we pay around 30-40$ for electricity and at max 100$ for heating (gas) as the winters are milder here. But again my hubby is at work during the day and I am only using the laptop at that time, we don't watch a lot of TV, do laundry twice a month to save on energy bills, all the appliances and our new house is energy efficient, I cook mostly on weekends for the rest of the week, hubby's office clothes goes to dry clean, our house is a two story and we only regulate the floor we spend the most time in etc. All this adds up in saving on energy bills.
