your electric bill
The Nest is an excellent idea...I've been wanting to do the same.

Re: your electric bill
Here are few things that I do in my house to save
My husband has the thermostat on 65 sometimes during the night...it drives me bananas but it does help when it comes to bills.

65 is too low for us too. Our day time is mostly 76 and at nights its 70

Holy. You keep your thermostat at 76F during day time? Bhai kya south pole pe rehtay ho
Re: your electric bill
I can’t keep it much over 70, I have chronic sinus issues and it gets too dry and stuffy..makes me have nose bleeds :sid:
We all use down comforters at night and that suffices.
Re: your electric bill
Daytime we keep ours at 70-72
Night time is when I like to keep it on and somehow magically the temp is 65 in the morning ![]()
The down comforters are like a miracle in the cold man…they make a huge difference. I never realized that until we actually got one…they trap heat and you’ll never know what the temperature is outside of the comforter!
Aap sab loug mashallah shadi shuda loug hain. Night time main itni sardi lugti hee kyun hain sab ko....mera matlub hai cuddling bhi koi cheez hai ke nahi

Re: your electric bill
We have gas stoves and heater therefore my combined bill is same as your electric bill.

Sounds like a sinister plan to drive you to him.

I never thought about that!!!
Re: your electric bill
Ok, so I just grilled hubby on our utility bills and I was pleasantly surprised.....since my cooktop is gas and our tankless water heater is gas, that stays pretty constant year round, about $90, +/- $20. Our electric averages $190 or so in summer and about $140 in winter. Our house is pretty energy efficient, being a new build, we have the low E double pained windows, radiant barrier in the attic, all the light bulbs are the energy savers and all that jazz. Our thermostat is the Ecobee Smart Thermostat, which works like the Nest does more or less. If it weren't for my kids leaving the lights on constantly upstairs I could probably trim it down even more.
So if I take your summer average of electricity, plus 100 for gas, then your total is 290, which is not far off from my 358. Also @Mirch said that his total is about mine. Chalo kuch tou aansoo puchay. :(
I mean Reha has other plans brewing in her mind but hum oldies kou tou heater wali heat chaiye naa :(
Re: your electric bill
