bamboo, wooden, “glass” or plastic? Whats your choice?
Re: Your cutting board
wooden
Re: Your cutting board
plastic, i feel like wood would absorb a lot of bacteria. glass would just be too loud lol
Re: Your cutting board
I use plastic, bamboo is the most sanitary. I took an Import Export class one of the students had done a whole report on bamboo cutting boards...haha.
Re: Your cutting board
glass, the safest option IMO
Re: Your cutting board
wood or plastic
Re: Your cutting board

Re: Your cutting board
granite cutting board
Re: Your cutting board
Plastic.
Re: Your cutting board
Plastic.
I once bought a glass one and felt that things just kept on slipping on it...
Re: Your cutting board
I have granite atm, I'm thinking of buying a new one in marble.
Re: Your cutting board
Have many different kinds , bought based on needs.
Re: Your cutting board
Plastic and bamboo.. I have about three cutting boards in my kitchen :D
I wash and sanitize the cutting boards whenever I can, even though my mom is the Incharge of cooking these days.. I still wash my cutting boards with bleach and water very often and just air dry it.
Wooden is the worst.. it can harbor bacterias no matter how much you clean and sanitize it... they are not even allowed in commercial kitchens!
Re: Your cutting board
I used plastic ones from time to time...hated it... I've been using a bamboo one for the last 2 years (and yes, I wash it with hot water and soap and dry it after every single use, esp with meat!), but it kinda broke...i just want a new one :/
Re: Your cutting board
I used to have a glass one .. but i hated it ... it was heavy and things would keep slipping off it and it was too loud..
So now I have a 10 inch x 8 inch Plastic board ... my life is at peace now .. its much easier to wash , light weight to hold and doesnt make much noise either ...
I do the meat on one side of it .. vegies and fruits on the other .. I have marked the sides so I dont mix them up .
Re: Your cutting board
I use a bamboo one, and I had the same problem, it broke. Its not completely broken, but its cracked from one side.
Re: Your cutting board
Granite, glass, plastic !!
no wonder your knives become dull over the period of time ..![]()
nothing beats a wooden cutting board.
Re: Your cutting board
wooden for me....several different ones for different types of products.....meat/veggies/fruit etc.
used to have a plastic one but I never thought it was really clean..
Re: Your cutting board
Those of you who use wooden ones ... how do you dry it ? coz i tried using one for a few months but them got rid of it .. It would just not dry out completely ...and it was really heavy to use as well ...
