Good on the new chairman Dr Naseem Ashraf. Such a tough action was necessary to let the players know that group politics and infighting within the team won't be tolerated in the future. The firing of Mushtaq Ahmad shows that in the new chairman's opinion, Mushy was in some way responsible for creating a rift b/w Younis Khan and 3 senior players namely Razzaq, Afridi and Akhtar who refused to play under him. Besides I totally agree with him that there's no need for Mushtaq's role as assistant coach when you have both a full-time coach and a bowling coach..... as they say in English 'too many cooks spoil the broth'

^ this will be a real test of his leadership skills and i think should be a good learing curve .... unless pak registers new lowest totals ever, i think things should progress uphill from here .....
no one is bigger then team... if any fool in the team thinks that team cant survive without him , then he is dead wrong ... he should be kicked out and new blood should be pumped in .... this will have better results in the long run inshallah !

i think we have seen in past that the easiest way to kick someone out of the team is to make him captain and then loose the tournament miserably.. case in point: Waqar Younis.

The decision to reinstate Younis Khan as captain was correct IMO. The new chairman should make it absolutely clear to everyone that internal bickering and group politics will not be tolerated in the future and players have to respect and obey unconditionally whoever's chosen to lead them. No individual is indispensable and bigger than the team.
.......but spare a thought for MOYO. How will he be feeling about it now? What impact would this have on his game as Pakistan's premier batsman and a pillar of our middle-order alongside Inzi and Younis?

I hope Chairman PCB reinstated Younis in consultation with Yousaf. I also hope chairman PCB told all the players in black and white that selection committee (that includes Coach & Captain) & PCB decisions in regards to selection of team is final and they have to follow captain instructions once they are onboard.
I also hope Younas will will give due respect to all players and every player will give their 110%. In the event of any lack of descipline or motivation, I hope touring committee will drop such players from the team, no matter how big their names may be, but I am sure they are not beyond the game and respect of the nation.
If representation of Pakistan is not a big enough motivation for a player, then i don't think PAK should have any place for such player at any level of cricket. Such players should be released from all cricketing affairs, and foreign office shouldn't allow them passports for playing club or county cricket in other countries. If such player is so confident of representing other countries, they could apply for immigration to other countries, rather than using PAK passport for their personal names.

I hope new chairman consulted Yousuf in one to one meeting before making Younus captain again. Looks like Yousuf is the only man who is for team and dont care if he is captain or not. Had this happed to someone else tu new panga shuru ho jata.
Pehley bhee he was sacked and he never complained and now again. This is another bad step. Ager problem solve ho hee gaeen theen tu they should have let Yousuf captain in ICC and after that back to normal Inzi/Younus combination.
There is an old saying k “If an old women got married, she did a bigger mistake but if she took divorce after realizing this, that biggest mistake” !!!

My feelings exactly. Yousef should have stayed as captain for this trophy.

btw guys now i am fearing for one more thing. I am afraid that PCB will keep Younus as a captain even after ICC cup and Inzi will be made to play as a regular player.

^^ In all honesty it might not be such a bad idea. Although Inzi commands a lot of respect from the team Younis does come acorss as someone who wont take any **** from anyone. He might have some problems initially but once everything is sorted out and players get to know that the only way to play is to give Younis the due respect it could be great for Pakistan cricket. Tactically the little we have Younis captaining the side he has come acorss as a much better captain then Inzi. Personally I think the main difference between him and Inzi is that Inzi waits for things to happen while Younis tries to make them happen. But I think Inzi would be back to captain the side after the ban.

Yes that will be awesome and treat him bit of a lesson that he can’t have his own way all that time. I really hope this happens than we may see some new young players in the team rather than famaliar faces.
