I am sitting in front of a TV (in Mumbai) watching India TV channel as I write this and the scrolling text at the bottom of the screen is saying “Younis Khan ne teesre test mein kaptaani karne se inkaar kiyaa” followed by "Mohd Yousuf ne bhi Kaptaani karne se inkaar kiyaa" ( Shoaib Malik, of course, has already been ruled out for this test).
Now Younis Khan looks like such a relaxed and jovial guy on the field…always smiling and all…so what posseses him when he is asked to do Kaptaani…pray tell..

It tells u how ****ed up and pathetic pak cricket is.........when Younis refused last year i didnt mind too much coz it seemed like he is taking a stand for what he believes is true....then when he refused again after WC...i was little surprised coz i thought he had done enough to let everyone know about his disliking of PCB and PCB's chamcheys.......but i was happy with Malik coz it seemed like a good long run choice....Now when Younis refuses, while Pak is in a tour and younis has had captained Pak in 2nd test with good result.........and he again refused.....thats nothing but simply Pathatic display of selfishness on Younis's behalf.....he has made his opinion clear over last 15 months on his disliking of PCB's decisions...........the WHOLE Pak knows what his opinion is on this...he has made his case......But he is showing his back when the country/team needs him now...........Shame on u Younis Khan!

Imho , PCB should initiate disciplinary action against Younis and Yousuf.
I mean how can you turn down additional job responsibility...isn't it part of the job contract......I mean if my boss in the office decides to give me additional responsibility tomorrow....can I ask him to look for somebody else instead without putting my job in the line.....plus captaining the national team is a privilege and honour...not something a player should be allowed to decide based on his mood and emotions.

Well .He is the captain of the team and has the right to have an opinion on team selection .If he wants a particular player, why can't PCB just allow that ? Why he is being forced to captain a side selected opposite to his opinion.

Yeah but Some1 if your boss is asking you to take charge of a special project and at the same time he's giving you lazy and incompetent workers and not enough resources, and where the outcome is almost most likely a negative one i think you should have a right to refuse that contract. Almost like you have a right to refuse any job that you feel is unsafe.
At the same time its still sad though that the senior players once again are failing to step up in time of need. Neither of inzi younis or yousuf ever took it upon themselves to fill the missing opener void. Shoaib Malik had the right intention but not the right goods sadly. And now no one wants to be captain. I think PCB should just go crazy at this point. Try Sami, Kaneria, Akmal.

Still not good enough reason to refuse when team is touring India and its the last chance that Pak has to keep its Undefeated run in a test series in india...
These are the Occasions that set players apart from good to great....these are the occasion that every cricket dreams of....How can you not wanna be the captain to win Bangalore test??????

there is definitely more than meets the eye. Younis probably has no say at all in team selection and this we have seen is something he doesn't like. Time and again he has said that he doesn't want to be a puppet captain.
Younis probably wants to get rid of Sami and have 2 specialist spinners in the side. Remember him asking for Tanvir to bowl left arm spin, which definitely was a hint that he wanted t left arm apinner in the Kolkatta test.

PCB is an employer just like employers everywhere.
And every employer has a certain work culture and established procedures.
If I am not happy with the resources I have been given, I would voice my concerns to the appropriate authorities...but ultimately its for them to take remedial measures. But if I simply refuse to take up the responsibilty because I am unhappy with the functioning of the company, wouldn't I be putting my job at risk.

Though I have criticized Younis for his refusals earlier, I wouldn't blame Younis now. He has been consistent on his stance... he wants to be able to have the freedom every captain should enjoy.
