and what about inzi’s dismissal yesterday? on the 1st ball he faced?
just sayin, if it could happen to inzi, who is considered to be THE best batsman pak has at the moment, younis getting out on the 1st ball of the day should tell u somethin 2…
I know that a lot of people wanted Younis out, but a lot also wanted to axe Inzi as captain LOL
Come on, come clean now you desis, where are you?
You're not calling for Slim elahi , Tofeek Umar now..........
p.s. If we bring back Shaoiby we wil be even stronger
Nobody said Gavaskar did not know how to bat, well he did not know how to bat at high strike rate....could not slog nor hit.....ergo was a one-dimensional player......
Damn!!! I thought Younis Khan was a committed cricketer, but after watching the presentation yesterday (of the third test), I found out that he just goes out there to enjoy. In the presentation ceremony, he said something like: "Well, I just go out there to enjoy. If I do good, I enjoy, if I do bad, I enjoy. I just enjoy." What the hell???? :D
**u r absolutely rite saby. he has been consistent overall. even before the australian tour, when ev.one criticzed him for not being a match winner, i backed him up. only a few others backed him in fact. most of them were just abusing him like there’s no tomorrow.
even when he was a 30’s 40’s kinda player he alwayz stuck around in the midst of a collapse but no one gave him enough credit for that. he is not a very talented guy but he knows his limitations and is a very hard worker.
bottomline is he is a commited cricketer and very gutsy. and he proved that in australia and now in the test series in india. he hasnt got a decent outing in odi’s but if he comes in early i’m sure he’ll make it count. wonder where all those critics have gone?? to the washroom maybe…**
just wait yarr…baray baray bae-sharam mojood hann…let him fail couple of times and all of them will be out of the washroom with swords in their hands to cut poor younis’s head…
akpower: I don’t want you to fly sky high on Younis’ performance in Tests, he is a good player there he has proved it. Most of the “critics” like myself opposed him in ODIs specially. You and other Younis’ old time lover say that he prevents the collapses we see so often, well dear bro he has been part of many collapses himself… he is no “wall”. He is much better batsman in Tests than ODIs. Smashing a lone century against HK and jumping like he scored it against Australia Anyway, for now he seems to be gaining ground so I’ll spare him and give the credit for his Test scores :k:
exactly. One good series does not make him a good batsmen. Let’s see what he does in WI. If he can play well in that type of conditions, I will give him all his due.
Do not ignore his good series against Ausralia, sri lanka and Now india. so that makes three good series in a row and by far the most consistent pakistani test batsmen of the season. He scored a century in Kolkata and people raised a point hat its just one century, then he scored 350 runs in next match and now cynics say that its only one series? If These three series and specially the last one doesnt prove to you that he is a good batsman, nothing ever will. After WI, you will ask and raise doubts about forthcoming series against England, there will be no end to it.
Bhot meharbaniee sir jee for announcing to give younis all his due after WI tour…bhot bhot sukirya…By the way what is a good performance in your books? do you want him to score 350 runs in every test match from now on…
yes, that’s exactly what I want him to do. Score 350 in flat wickets of hindia and atleast 250 in aus or wi.
And I still contend that he has no place in the One day team. I mean the dude has grand total of ONE century that too against the greatest team in the world hong kong. And don’t tell me “well he bats lower down the order so his chances are slim.” That’s a bull**** about pak cricket team. We are world famous for our early collapse so he had plenty of chances to score.
