Youm e Ishq e Rasool (Sallallahu Alaihi wa aalihi wassalam) in Pakistan celebrated today, police mobiles, police stations, banks (looted), vehicles burnt in Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad and Peshawar. I hope the Americans would have learnt a big lesson today.

Re: Youm e Ishq e Rasool Today
The past few days have been the biggest fraud in the name of Ishq-e-Rasool. All the looters and thugs and anarchists were out in force today. The retarded Qamar Zaman Kaira is blaming the media for instigating the public. Yeah right. Absolute absence of writ of the government.

ISLAMABAD: A policeman was shot dead in Karachi, bringing to three the number to those killed during protests across Pakistan condemning an anti-Islam film, officials said.
Angry demonstrators armed with clubs and sticks set fire to and ransacked two cinemas in Peshawar, where at least one person was killed and 15 were wounded by gun shots, tear gas and stone throwers, said the Lady Reading Hospital. Moreover, three cinemas were also set alight in Karachi.
The country was observing Youm-i-Ishq-i-Rasool and protesters were taking out processions.
Processions were taken out in Muzaffarabad, Rawalpindi, Nowshera, Jacobabad, Peshawar and other cities.
Demonstrators in Peshawar and Nowshera turned violent and caused damage to government and private property.
The government had declared Friday a holiday to allow tens of thousands to protest in defence of Islam and the Prophet and security forces had fanned out across major cities, sealing off Western and government targets.
It also issued orders for mobile telephone networks to be shut down in at least 15 cities until at least 6pm in measures that appeared to be designed to prevent bomb attacks.
Shops, markets and petrol stations closed en masse, shuttering windows and erecting barriers in an unprecedented closure not seen on religious or public holidays.
The government said Friday would be a “day of love for the Prophet” and urged people to protest, albeit peacefully, to show their opposition to the crudely made film.
Situation in Islamabad
Protesters in Islamabad resorted to rioting and set alight the toll plaza between Rawalpindi and Islamabad after ransacking it. The plaza is situated near an Afghan refugee camp.
Section 144 was subsequently imposed in Islamabad and its adjoining areas prohibiting violent protests and weapons display.
The Deputy Commissioner of Islamabad Amir Ali Ahmed said only peaceful processions would be allowed to take place. To ensure that, authorities were monitoring Islamabad’s Red-zone via CCTV cameras.
Later on, the protests turned relatively peaceful as hundreds demonstrated outside the five-star Serena Hotel, where the road to the heavily guarded diplomatic enclave was sealed off.
Situation in Peshawar
Angry demonstrators armed with clubs and sticks set fire to and ransacked two cinemas in Peshawar, where at one person was killed 15 others were wounded by gun shots, tear gas and stone throwers, said the Lady Reading Hospital.
Muhammad Amir, a driver working for a private TV channel died after being shot and critically wounded, said Doctor Mukhtar Khan, head of the Lady Reading Hospital.
A protester who was shot during a demonstration in the city also died, said police officer Rohhullah Khan.
Situation in Karachi
A policeman was killed and two others wounded in an exchange of fire with protesters in Karachi, police official Mohammad Shakeel said.
Scuffles broke out when protesters tried to march towards the US consulate, throwing stones at police and trying to remove shipping containers that blocked the road, police said.
Officers fired off tear gas shells and fired into the air to disperse the crowd, but three policemen were wounded by gunfire from an unknown direction, Shakeel said.
“They were shifted to hospital where one of our constables died,” he added.
Three cinemas were set alight in Karachi — two on Karachi’s Muhammad Ali Jinnah road and one in the city’s Quaidabad area. Moreover, two private banks were also set on fire near Karachi’s PIDC.
Earlier today, police had told AFP they were on maximum alert and that bomb disposal squads were sweeping planned locations of rallies to ensure that extremists could not exploit protests to cause carnage.
“All the entry and exit points of the city are heavily guarded. Helicopters are on stand-by for aerial surveillance,” provincial police chief Fayyaz Laghari had told AFP.
“We have deployed our maximum police force to the sensitive parts of the city to ensure security during protest rallies today.”
Situation in Rawalpindi
In Rawalpindi, clashes broke out when scores of demonstrators pelted cars and police with stones, and burnt down a booth at a toll plaza, police official Mohammad Munir said.
An AFP reporter said police fired tear gas and live rounds into the air in a bid to disperse stone throwers and hundreds of protesters at the entry point to Islamabad, which was blocked off by shipping containers.
Situation in Lahore
Demonstrators and police clashed during the protests against the anti-Islam film in Lahore.
Enraged protestors also tried to enter the premises of the US Consulate in Lahore.
Moreover, demonstrators ransacked public property and set several cars alight.

Wow, he gets away with a lot of funny stuff. its amazing the way things work sometimes.
Re: Youm e Ishq e Rasool Today
Yeh tau hona hi thaa .... knowing our retarded masses (the vast majority anyway) and
after the regressive step taken by the government.
And what a pointless idea!!! How will this help anyone including Pakistan? No one in the world cares that Pakistan has declared a holiday. If we were a major industrial power, Yes. Except we’re not. How many holidays will the government declare if more videos are made?
**I knew this 'holiday' would simply mean more vandalism, more violence and loss in productivity in already least productive country.
**Now who is responsible for all this death and destruction?

Yea, with stupid awaam like this who need enemies? The rabid dogs should be shot on sight and their leaders should be charged with terrorism and hanged.
Re: Youm e Ishq e Rasool Today
the way people are breaking into shops, its doesn't seem like a protest !!
burning public property... breaking cars of own people what kind of a protest is that? if they are so angry why dont they burn their own property???
Re: Youm e Ishq e Rasool Today
Why cant everyday be Youm e Ishq Rasool? Sometimes I think we're turning into gorey - having a day in which we decide to do something special - like mother's day etc. I wonder if it comes under bidah? (Serious question...)
Anddddd even if it is such a day, how are we honouring him?? By breaking things, hurting people?? Really?!?
Having said that i know there have been some excellent peaceful protests - if only they got the same airtime...

The sad thing is that not all protesters are violent or agressive, a lot of peoples just gathered on voice of leaders specially leaders of banned wings and the terrorists who dont wana see a stablized pakistan avail their chances to destrory economy by looting/burn demolish properties and to see this all happening a normal person also take stone in his hand and from here its not more protest its just madness of mad mob.
Re: Youm e Ishq e Rasool Today
Ishq knows no violence. Ahmed Nadeem Qasmi has said:
Mujhko dushman ke iradon pe bhi pyar aata hai
Teri ulfat ne mohabbat meri addat kar di.
This was for love between two common people. Celebrating Ishq for a personality who is known as Remata lil aalameen (peace for all the universe) in this way is just disgusting. ![]()
