i dont find anything wrong if someone ask you if you are a muslim....plus if someone said to me that i look muslim, i would be happy and my reply would be yes i am a muslim ..i dont think its steryotyping .....

i’m nonmuslim and no it’s not that i got offended or felt bad but it was very strange and i’ve never heard it said by a desi to somebody who has no hijab on, i didn’t know there was a muslim look in terms of features, that’s what i meant
i’ve been asked if i was hispanic, pakistani, middle eastern but never a certain religious look. it was more of a 
moment like “eh?”

It might be that this woman associates certain "features" with being Muslim (ie. someone looks" Pakistani....or someone *looks Arab etc). So "you looks Muslim" may have been her way of saying you have features of a ethnicity that's primarily Muslim. I can see what she was trying to say.....she just worded it really weird.

Were you dressed a little conservatively? The fitting of your jeans/top, the length of the sleeeves etc. I can't think of anything else.
Maybe the woman was cuckoo. (or lesbo and her new obsession was muslim ladies: thus her muslim getup ;))
