Were you ever invited to one ? Did you go ?
I have been invited many a times I did go, but not in a costume , I went in casual dress. I found out that there are many like me who would like to go to this party but they would not go in a costume. The costume was optional in the parties I was invited to .
I think it is OK for others to have fun this way , but my desi upbringing is a hindrance in wearing a costume to a costume party. Simply put I feel awkward to wear a costume.

Here is an idea you can go as a Muslim King and Queen or as Desi Bride and Groom, it is not necessary to you go as Batman and Cat woman

costume parties,

gone as scorpion from mortal kombat, batman, paul stanley from Kiss several times.

i always chuckle around halloween when desi kids show up trick or treating wearing kurta shalwars, come on, put some effort or dont do it.

70’s was so cool, Bell Bottom, long hair, pointy shoes, broad side burns, hashish . No , I do not miss that as I was just a kid. :smiley: I have seen that on TV show called The 70’s Show.
