Is that something the media made up? Or is Deion Sanders white? Apparently, even blacks frown upon such kind of behavior. Look, the idea of putting in someone else’s shoes runs both ways. The confrontational attitudes that come to bear during these encounters, cannot all be blamed on cops. Blacks contribute to the situation too. As for Dr. Gates, when a cop asks you to produce some ID, you just do it. If you are an educated and responsible citizen, that is. You don’t go ape-**** on him and say things like this is my house, you are doing this coz am black, lecture him about slavery etc. That to me is going ghetto.

You need to get your facts straight. Prof Gates produced ID. And then asked for the cops name - as was his RIGHT. The cop refused. Of course it is easier to believe the police version. For they never make things up.

There is also a Forbes article - not exactly a liberal publication - that states even if Prof Gates said a few things to the pokice, that is within his constitutional right.

the only ghetto behavior is from the cop - who was a sargeant. And those who make excuses for him.
