when are desis specially the one living in pakistan going to get out of that pathetic mentality is being dark means being ugly??? regardless of what you are, what you have accomplished in life, how nice/rude your behavior is, everything boils down to the fact that your skin complexion is light or dark.
i have been living in america for over a decade. i have been told by many many people that i am really beautiful (i am not trying to brag, just making a point here) and i don’t even wear makeup everyday.
the day when i thought i looked most horrible, due to 2 week long sickness, and no makeup a guy asked me out. Then i hear about some rishta who said no for me, because “larki achi hai, magar rang kala hai” are you seriously kidding me??? not that it bothers me because they said no, because i believe that it is the way of ALLATHALA filtering out the trash rishtas, but it’s just so pathetic that it makes me mad.
^ did you also get hired for the job that u were denied before because u were "kali", and now since you used that fair and lovely, u are hired. yayyy....those advertisement just add the icing on top of our pathetic desi mentality.

I wonder what kind of job requires that QUALIFICATION and what would be the job description???
apart frm tht desi people r really frustrated and jealous , they cant see any1 else progress or success or cant see them happy , so out of no where they do something stupid when they wont get anythg , ths color complexion is the last criterion where they can bug / hurt / annoy you .
i dun think itz an issue these days..u must have clear skin, let it be tan or fair…and u look attractive..i mean aaj kal log itna issue nahi bnatay iss ka jitna pehle hota tha:hmmm:
i don’t agree, i see it all around me when i am in pakistan. it’s like i have commit a crime by being born in to that skin. both my mother and sister are literally gora white, and i look adopted. people have been really cruel to me about ti, someone asked my mother that since u are you younger daughter are so beautiful, how did your older daughter turn out to be like this :s
so what ever…i am more than happy in my skin, but can’t stand those jerks who judge ppl based on their skin.
Don't bother what other people think of you ..specially the ones with sick mentality ..it's their loss and not yours ..They get jealous from the ones with fair complexion as well and raise other issues like she's too blunt or usay khana pakana nahi ata or uski family itni well off nahi ..Ppl like these need to get their screws fixed ..
God has blessed you with beauty carry it with confidence

yanzala even if u were "gori chitti maim",people would have problem with something else in you..thats how people are..they have to talk about something...just ignore them..Dun u think people talk about some girl being short,tall,moti,patli,..same goes for kaali, gori ..itz sick but thats how people are here in Pak,,
i meant desi kala too....one just like you.....he couldn't complain..
i agree about the gora/gori thing.........but then there is another thing........if someone is too white people also say "thora sa rang kya saaf hai..isskay nakhray hi nahi khatam hoti".."bas ye gori hai warna iskay features to koi achay nahi hain"..
in short..people find excuses all the time.....but they are entitled to their choice of complexion ,just like race or religious background.....
We dont live in a perfect world. People have their own preferences based on skin color/height/weight/features. You wouldn't want to get married to someone you do not find attractive, esp. when you have a choice.
