Baloch elite needs to work on plan for next 10 years. Balochistan has a population of 7 million. Gawadar in full ops will have close to 20 million people working there. This will overwhelm the locals unless they embark on urgent development program.
Some of the possible actions urgently needed are:
Setup technical colleges for training Balochis
Business taxation to encourage entrepreneurship
Development of tourism for uplifting Baloch masses and exposing them to service industry
Following Talib, MAToo, AK47 culture will only bring hardship to Baloch people.
And where will the small Baloch elite get the money for this? When will the resources fo Balochistan be used to develop Balochistan and not other palces?

Two sources:
Private
Government
Write proposals, and plans. Submit them to every major company, corporation, and University. Get the Baloch Government or local municipalities allocate 2000-acre land for each University. With persistence, sweat, and toil, my friend you will have enough money to establish the schools.
Create an environment where teachers and businessmen from other states feel safe in your area. You will see how easy it is to raise money.
Government resources OTOH are always limited. Pakistan's total revenues stand at $10 billion from 150 million population. Do the math and you will know the share of 7 million Balochi people. Then add 5% special favor and you got the total for Federal allocation for Balochistan.
So the mantra is to work hard on securing private funds.

Are you sure?
Karachi only has about 15m (I think) and it has been a major city for centuries. Gwadar would be doing well to get to 1m people by 2014.
By the way, I think Gwadar should be leased to China for 25~50 years (same as Hong Kong was to the Brits) as the pakistani govt / awaam is not capable of fulfilling it's potential.
I find it funny that the balochis seem to portray themselves as the guardians of the poor people of gweadar when the truth is that the people of gwadar are not balochis anyway and that gwadar was given away to Oman as a present by the then Nawab many years ago anyway - and no balochi was concerned about it then! So what is the problem if the govt takes it under federal rule? After all it was the govt of pk and not the balochi tribal leaders , who bought the city back from the Omanis.

Dude forget that, Baluchis want independance, I thought you knew that.
In ten years, it's more like this:
Baluchis pick it up.
Baluchis gain independance through nothing but violence.
Hey, it could happen. :-)

Gain independance? For what, so the world can have another barren country full of rocks and idiots running around with guns shooting everything that moves. For once people should think of creating things rather than destroying.

The world does not need another army run Pakistan, but a democractically run Balochistan or Sindh would be welcomed.

well said! and Sindhis are even demanding that a clause should be incorporated in the >>new constitution<< that would give right to secession to the provinces in case of another military coup. I think this is a very legitimate demand and this clause should be incorporated in the new constitution.

Good God. We got only 4 provinces, you want to give people a reason to make it 3 or less? What the hell are you smoking?

They already have enough reasons to separate from Pakistan if they really want it. The best possibility they got was in the early '70s when the army had virtually ceased to exist and wasn't in a position to hinder any such movement. Anyway, if such a clause is incorporated in the constitution it can hinder any military takeover of the country in future?

The responsibility of such an event would lie entirely with the dictatorship and it's subjugation of smaller provinces. Right now I can tell you that Sindhis are nothing but spectators to the destiny of their own province.

The Sindhis should be grateful to the Mohajirs for providing Sindh with some economic progress in Karachi & Hyderabad etc. Without the non-sindhis, Sindh would have been in a worse condition than Baluchistan. Hopefully the Mohajirs & Punjabis & Pathans will sort out Baluchistan as well through the development of Gwadar. Backward ethnic groups require support from the more progressive ones and that works for the development of the whole nation.
Backward ethnic groups? Karachi used to be a peaceful and prosperous city before 1947 and it was considered an ideal place for tourism. Today it has been turned into a terrorist den and mafia controlled land. Tell me who is more backward now.

That my dear boy is treason and punishable by death. If you have a problem with the Pakistani state i suggest you firstly change your nationality and then ignore pakistan.
Sadiqaan just because you dont have control or you have military government does not mean you dis-integrate the country.
If you wish for a seperate country by all means fight for it. We will crush you.
