So i am finally in lahore. went around to a couple of places for dress-making, checking salons out.
Dress making and liberty/cavalry is SUCH a dissappointment i swear. i expected better. mushkil say i could give 3 joras for making.
went to ather-shahzad and maram-abroo.
athershahzad charge:
60,000 for one day’s makeup
55,000 if senior MUA does the base, and they do the rest
25,000 if senior MUA does it all
10,000 for personal consultation
i did not like the attitude of the girl who was talking to me, as if she is like the BIG-BROTHER of all the tom-dick-harry american lineage thats comes to lahore for weddings and parties. WHATEVER!
maramabroo also charge a consultation fee of 1500 rupees.
ye kya badtameezi hai??? ive gone back to lahore after less than a year-and-a-half, and the prices have gone CRAZY there! i did not expect such a trifold increase in things.
upper say seyapa gas band … load-shedding of gas … strike of gas! however are things going to end ..
i am having my first wave of wedding shock, and its driving me nuts. paired with the adverse climatic(change) effect of lahore gandagi … my skin is screaming for help … S-O-S girls!!!

i was just finally relaxed a little since we have decided to go with liberty castle for the wedding...but now hearing that everything is soooo much more expensive...i m really scared.
i guess i shld try to help u...so calm down...take it easy and get one thing done at a time.
luckily there are many other salons in lahore which are really good...so check them out as well (call them if u cant drive there).

iv seen bridals from madeehas,n all-e-noora (something lik that)..n they were really gud,i mean it...check out these places before finalazing ur mau.

You went to the most famous make up artist in the country, and u expect to get bargain prices?! Its odd that you should complain about prices when dealing with the biggest name in fashion.
my cousin had her makeup done from ather shehzad last yr (summer 2008) and the charges were actually the same quoted to you, she paid around Rs.60,000 for her package. its ridiculously high of course, but then he is the top make up artist in the country right now so ya he charges for his name and no bargaining. same for maram abroo, they are excellent but again you do pay more for the name itself, but don't lose hope, the good thing about being in pakistan is that you have lots n lots of options, if you have time, visit other well reputed salons/photographers to personally check their work out and i'm sure you'll find someone who fits your budget and your needs prefectly. it can be fun too :) good luck.

maramabroo dont charge so much … it’s 20,000 for one day … but now i am a bit unsure about going to them … because there was no vibe. the woman was energyless … no motivation … she charges a consultation fee, but usko baat kerni b nahi ati, client ko deal kerna he nahi ata … kuch dikhana ho to khud bethi rehi thi aur mujh ko she was asking k uth ker ao dekhnay … wth!!!
i am definitely going to check someone else out. i have collected a couple of names. when i meet them, i’ll post details.

my best friend and her sister also got ready from them. unhoun nay mujhay kuch bataya tha, and ye kuch aur bata rahay thay. so that automatically was a turn off. and the fact k " acha wo … wo to meri best friend hai, usko to without consession sab ker k diya tha … uskay susar k mamoo ki bla **** crap" … my foot! like REALLY! i dont dig such a conversation at ALL …
the worst thing … meray ghar per kaam ho raha hai renovation ka … to ghar per bohat gand hai … bahar bohat hai, i have no place for myself … kuch dinoun mein bohat say log ho jaeingay, phir meray paas koi jagha nahi hogi … i am craving privacy now, and jab bohat saray log houngay, tab bhi agr meray paas toilet b nahi hai janay ko … tou that is just freaking me out
4 days of constant shopping and over-exertion … and now i am terribly sick, down with a bad flu … i just wish k koi tyaari shyaari sab kuch automatically ho jayay … bus shadi k do din ayein, aur bus kaam khatam …
i havent even seen my barat ka jora, or my valima ka jora yet, and the shadi is like in 3 weeks or something. aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
