yaaraa SILLY, SILLY...

Hi,

i just heard this song:

can you tell us what does the word SILLY mean?

Re: yaaraa SILLY, SILLY...

Very happy about you

Re: yaaraa SILLY, SILLY...

nope! :) try harder TLK. :)

Re: yaaraa SILLY, SILLY...

Silly in urdu is usually referred to as something that is moist....not exactly wet. Not sure if its used in the same reference in this song..

Re: yaaraa SILLY, SILLY...

^ I think its punjabi word.
اردو میں نم یا نمی یا تر

Re: yaaraa SILLY, SILLY...

Yes I was going to say the same - silli is a Punjabi term for damp/moist and the Urdu equivalent for that would be *nam/nami

Sillay biscoot *is a quite a common term in Punjabi households. :D

Re: yaaraa SILLY, SILLY...

Dheere-dheere, hole-hole, ahista-ahista???

Re: yaaraa SILLY, SILLY...

I concur with the previous posters, I believe it's a Punjabi word that means moist.

Re: yaaraa SILLY, SILLY...

Seeli raat as in moist night... She has also used dhola in the song which again is a Punjabi word I believe.

Re: yaaraa SILLY, SILLY...

Shukar hai KKF ne 'Seeli hawa chhoo gai' nahin suna.

Slow nahin seeli?

This tune is a copy of Reshma's famous song 'Kithe Nain Na JoRin'.

Re: yaaraa SILLY, SILLY...

keep telling us it's meaning, please! :)

there is an extension/application to the meaning of this word that i'm waiting to hear from anyone.

Re: yaaraa SILLY, SILLY...

@muqawwee123 yeah right..sahi pakde hain..one more song..eh jo sili sili aun di eh hawa kitthe koi ronda howega

Re: yaaraa SILLY, SILLY...

Meaning toh tanha-tanha lag ri hai bade bhiya..application nai pata...

Re: yaaraa SILLY, SILLY…

Personally I hate this song. yaara silly silly. mukh mor kai na ja, mujhai chor kai na ja. Dimple looks idiotic in this song. c’mon guys keep telling its urdu meaning.

Re: yaaraa SILLY, SILLY...

seelan zada bhi Urdu main bola jata hai. May be boseeda ka ek aur version.

BTW, the lyrics are written by Gulzar and he is well aware how to use Punjabi words in Hindi / Urdu.

Birha ki raat ka jalna ke meaning kia hain?

Re: yaaraa SILLY, SILLY…

seelay hoye papay, biscuit to hamary han bolay jatay hian…

Jiska matlab hawa lag gaye hia… ya nami :hmmm:

Re: yaaraa SILLY, SILLY...

seelan zadah is incorrect because seelan is a Hindi word and mixing Hindi with Urdu to make a compound word/adjective is grammatically incorrect. btw, if, from a liberal linguists' point of view, seelan zadah is again incorrect because seelan is adjective. seel zadah would be correct.

birha = vireh = judaaii

vireh kii aag meN jalnaa = judaaii kii aag meN jalnaa

btw, birhaa is a variant of vireh which is "Ghalat ul 'awaam'.

Re: yaaraa SILLY, SILLY...

lols KKF. aaj ke daur main jab hamara ek jumla tak English ke bagher mukammil nahin, ye bolna ke Hindi aur Urdu ko mix karna ghalat hai bohut door ki laana hai.

Re: yaaraa SILLY, SILLY...

Urdu bazaat khud koi zaban nahi hia.. ager isko restrict kardo to pata nahi kitni aur zabano kay ilfaz kharij karnay hongay.... phir to app gongay ban kar phiro....

Re: yaaraa SILLY, SILLY...
