PTI, AML form electoral alliance

ISLAMABAD: Chairman Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan and President Awami Muslim League (AML) Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed held conclusive talks regarding formation of electoral alliance, sources said.

According to the sources, the meeting was held in Imran Khan’s residence here on Wednesday in which both the parties finalised the formation of electoral alliance.

During the meeting, both the leaders agreed to jointly take part in the next elections and to support each other’s candidate. The PTI also decided that it would not field a candidate from its party against Sheikh Rasheed.

The sources said that Imran Khan will announce the electoral alliance of PTI and AML during the Sheikh Rasheed’s public gathering, scheduled to be held in Liaquat Bagh on August 13.

Both the leaders will hold another meeting before the Liaquat Bagh public gathering, the sources added.

Now the biggest tout of establishment, Sh. Rasheed have also joined PTI ( i won’t call it merger, sheikh want to call it that, i mean, how many members does Sheikh Rasheed have, is want to keep his own identity so that he can change his loyalties if needed)

Re: Ya Allah Mujhay SH. Rasheed Jaisa na bana

:bummer: Is there any politician in Pakistan who keep his words. Lagta hai ek zaban wala koi mard nahin bacha :hoonh:

Re: Ya Allah Mujhay SH. Rasheed Jaisa na bana

Selective memory? Not sure if you remember the program, but that program was done in a friendly vein. And what Imran said was in response to a snippet by Sheikh Rasheed, where he said that 'mein aik kamyaab siyasatdaan hoon', and Imran responded by saying, Allah mujhey Sheikh Rasheed jaisa 'kaamyaab siyasatdaan' na banana. It was different from what you quoted above. You have to watch the whole show in order to get a better picture,

I think this was bound to happen. Sheikh Rasheed, in numerous talk shows, had been hinting at change, and indirectly voicing support for PTI. It will not benefit PTI in a major way, but symbolically, it is an indicator of how the mindset of people is changing. Just look at the infighting within PPP and PML-N and you will get an idea. Very rarely do you see a major 3rd party rise up the ranks, and shake up the status quo, and it is happening this time around.

Re: Ya Allah Mujhay SH. Rasheed Jaisa na bana

Yeah we all love IK for one reason or another but call spade a spade. IK is eating his words, again.

Re: Ya Allah Mujhay SH. Rasheed Jaisa na bana

Ofcourse, it was writing on the wall, army establishment kay naami giraami taout, how can they be in the same game and not on same side?

Re: Ya Allah Mujhay SH. Rasheed Jaisa na bana

ASk any PTI supporter here and they will provide you with one hundred and one ( read it is Punjabi) that IK never meant that, he always wanted this alliance to happen…

Re: Ya Allah Mujhay SH. Rasheed Jaisa na bana

That is true!

Re: Ya Allah Mujhay SH. Rasheed Jaisa na bana

first PTI gets an invite to 90, and who knows they might even ally with them and now this?

not a fan of his ever changing stances.

Re: Ya Allah Mujhay SH. Rasheed Jaisa na bana

Sh Rasheed was not allowed to join PTI during the Pindi jalsa by core committee. And this alignment will help PTI and AML in the stronghold of PML-N.

Not a fan of Sh rasheed :)

Re: Ya Allah Mujhay SH. Rasheed Jaisa na bana

This is sadly the world of politics where friends and foes are not permanent. PPP and PMLN which used to be the worst of enemies in the 90s have been allies until recently, PPP and qatil league are in government now, and not to forget PPP and MQM (the same party against which they conducted a military operation in 90s).

Re: Ya Allah Mujhay SH. Rasheed Jaisa na bana

I am not a fan of Sh Rasheed but it can help Imran in Pindi against PMLN as he has some following there and he wasn't part of the present setup.

If we are talking about attitude then it is actually Sh Rasheed who has changed rather than Imran. At least Sh Rasheed is better than PPP leades who shamelessly defend Zardari and their pathetic performances.

Re: Ya Allah Mujhay SH. Rasheed Jaisa na bana

If Pindi Jalsa was such a success that half of the Pindi was there, if the Jalsa was because all of the PINDI is now fond of the politics of IK and they are ready to support IK< then why getting someone like Sheeda Tali in the ranks??? it is either, PTI do not stand a chance in Pindi and is looking forward for some kind of support ( of course their own party organization does not exist there or if it is there then half the time they are busy fighting for the CHANGE among themselves) to contest elections.. and they can find no one else but Sheeda Talli and what a great strategy...

THE CEC of PTI never allowed the one man party to merge in PTI but they allowed the alliance??? surely PTIans born yesterday, and surely they do not see what is going to hit them... and i am 100% telling them won't make any difference now...

AS for Sheeda, the guy who use to support Mushy in a way that no other person actually ever did, use to call him Syed Pervaiz Musharaf Sahib, even when he is alone, and use to propagate that there is no man as honest as Mushy is... earlier, he praise for NS, and before that for Zia and before Zia, Bhutto was his ideal, i guess there is not party that this person has never joined...

There is other attributes about him, he is notorious tout of Army establishment, people of raja bazar believes that he don't even pee without the permission of the GHQ.... and that is the reason he is always called to the talk shows because anchors try to get the news out of him or he promises them some inside information about the THINKERS of the nation...

anyway, it seems like Allah is still favoring Pakistan and that is why, the so-called last hope of Pakistan is making blunders after blunders and is being exposed with every passing day... still i will congratulate the brats of PTI... way to go... the result of the CHANGE brought with the support of Touts like Sheikh Rasheed is evident...

Re: Ya Allah Mujhay SH. Rasheed Jaisa na bana

The invitation has already been turned down.

Having said that, you cannot exclude MQM from the Sindh picture. Even if Altaf Hussein confesses live on TV that he gets votes by force and MQM is involved in extortion and target killings, you have to respect their electoral mandate.

Re: Ya Allah Mujhay SH. Rasheed Jaisa na bana

If Zardari can embrace the party which got his wife killed, if Ch. Shujaat can sit with the party which got his father killed, if Nooni can have ‘brother of Musharraf’ and forward bloc and likeminded under its wings, then why so much pain Sheikh Rashid joins PTI?

It only shows how confused a nation we are. PTI was beaten to death when it had no electables. Now the problem is why so many electables?

Almost 90% of media and this forum want PTI to have some kind of electoral alliance with PML-N, and I can bet if it finally happens, all those who are advocating this alliance, will take a U-turn in no time and rip PTI off again for collaboration with PML-N.

Moral of the story: Lagey raho Munna Bhai :aejaz:

Re: Ya Allah Mujhay SH. Rasheed Jaisa na bana

Whats this grand national alliance that Nawaz Sharif keeps talking about? Although presently no party seems to trust PMLN, and hence their isolation. A few months ago when MQM came out of the government and were looking towards PMLN, they shunned them. Same was the case with JUI, and now as the elections are nearing they have launched a frontal assault against PTI to remove any remote chances of co-operation between the two parties. And if they dont change their attitude they will be sitting in the opposition after the next elections as well, in case all three parties get equal seats. PPP will again form their own government with the help of ANP, PMLQ and MQM.

Grand alliance possible before polls: Nawaz Sharif - thenews.com.pk

due to the lack of trust between PMLN and other parties this was the result:

PPP foils PML-N’s move to establish grand alliance

Come on man, we can make points without these kind of lines otherwise it completely devalues your post.

Re: Ya Allah Mujhay SH. Rasheed Jaisa na bana

Why 'norm in Pakistani Politics' doesn't apply here hanibal? ;) It seems it is okay if whole KP PML(Q) joins in with NS but one insignificant politician eating his words and accepting another insignificant politician is a big issue?

IK tau phir aik zamany main Mush ka supporter tha. You didn't really have any objections on Marvi Memon (former director ISPR under Mush and very close ally with him) and Ameer Muqaam (Mush's 'brother) being accepted by NS.

Re: Ya Allah Mujhay SH. Rasheed Jaisa na bana

I remember when Afzal Sindhu joined PTI a few days ago, PMLN and PPP supporters inlcuding leaders raised questions and posted remarks such as "What a change, PTI is taking rejected people from other parties". Now everyone knows that Afzal Sindhu has GREAT reputation and he didn't even hesitate to open Zardari's cases.
PTI was criticised when SMQ and J Hashmi joined as well even though PMLN were tried their best to get SMQ and whole party leadership tried their best to stop Javed Hashmi.

When they heard about Amir Muqam joining PTI, they called him Musharaff's brother and then accepted him in their own party.

Change is not about importing new faces from Mars or moon, the change is about:

Accountability: PTI asking it's leaders to declare assets ensures no one is joining party to make money. It will also ensure taxes are properly paid by the leaders who often don't pay ANY taxes.

Party elections: Giving power to average people to select their own leaders. Party elections will ensure that people with bad reputation will not be selected. Even then no one is guaranteed a party ticket.

Howelse do you bring change?
