This like thing is quite interesting…eversince it started…
“Likes” do seem to have quite an effect on people…I see people giving each other likes…page admins on FB giving likes to everyone who follows their page…
I guess a “like” does give an ego boost and some sense of accomplishment/validation to a person…
How much of an effect do you think it has on you?? and on other people you observe??
Re: xyz "likes" this....."Likes" on social networking sites...
lol.. I noticed. People like to make more politically correct statements too to score more "likes" around here.. I have always been politically INcorrect so it makes no difference to me.
Re: xyz “likes” this…“Likes” on social networking sites…
say what you will but I like that I get likes. and no I don’t say anything JUST to get a like, if people like my post, they like it. They have good taste

I think it makes people write better quality posts which has a positive effect on GS overall.
When people appreciate you in real life or online, it obviously boosts your self-confidence. Things start getting abnormal only when you start relying on what others have to say about you and start to change as a person accordingly. For example, if I put my picture up on some dating website and received zero likes, I should not start hating myself and go into depression mode. Or if I received a million likes, I should not become arrogant. If you're changing for good, fair play, but you shouldn't let the net play with your emotions and take over your life.
Re: xyz "likes" this....."Likes" on social networking sites...
@BBQ exactly it does give a positive energy but at the same time as my other half pointed out by sending me this interesting article ..that social networking sites and the 'likes' feature is actually instigating narcissistic qualities in a person and I kind of agree to that too.
